Sony CMT-NE3 CD Shelf System is one of the best syatems I have had in radio quality and ease of recording onto audio tape. It receives the radio signals fairly well for the stations I use and has been working well for months. So much so that I have three systems. I know there are many good models in Sony but I am not keen to try others systems simply because I like to keep to one model and I have no to learn different 'knobs' and different settings.
The set is very reliable and I use it for many hours at a time.
I do not use the CD part of the system. I use the radio and the audio tape.
I feel that these days the audio tapes are being faded out from the market and there are fewer raido cassette recorders; as CD is more pouplar the radio sets have CD players. Therefore I have collected a few systems for my use in different rooms of the house.
The only improvement I would ask as a facility is that I would like it to have facility for have external aerials to increase the reception, particularly for AM or Medium-wave broadcast.

A very good piece of equipment

I bought this item because I wanted a cassette deck to record and play radio programmes not otherwise available. I also wanted an analogue input function from my laptop, as well as a CD-player; and an output, too. This piece of kit is neat, and has good sound - though I don't use the loudspeakers that came with it, but a large old Wharfedale on which the unit sits. So I use it monophonically only, with an extension speaker in my kitchen. My only cavil is that, having working legs, I don't like remote controls, and the volume can only be controlled remotely, like the input function from my laptop. But at the very low price I got it for, I'm not too upset. It's a pity that this sort of player will be increasingly hard to come by, due to relentless and ruthless 'progress'.

When buying this item I was replacing an old Awai hi-fi for my wife.
I did not expect too much from but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound from small speakers. It is a simple but good system that takes up very little space in our small kitchen.
I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relatively cheap system, I don't think you will be disapointed

We bought this because it is a quality system, was near enough to collect and the seller had excellent feedback, plus the fact we had an absolute bargain.
The system works perfectly and was also in excellent condition, all in all one of the best purchases so far.
