QUALITY
This unit looks, feels and sounds quality, you will not be disappointed by it’s design, build quality or performance.
STYLE
This is a personal thing but in my view looks quite classy. The facia comes in one of two colours BLACK or SILVER denoted by the “s” in the model number and the display is well lit by two colours, would have been much better with a multi colour display and in that respect is my only disappointment to what is otherwise aesthetically pleasing.
FUNCTIONALITY
A very well equipped piece of kit, seems to cater for most needs as you can plug just about anything into it and play just about anything on it. Controls are clear and precise. Fitting the facia in the dark can be a bit fiddly but otherwise full marks.
PRICE
The used market residual value has faded to a very affordable level through the arrival of the “flip-screen generation of modern offerings and that makes this a “value for money bargain” and consequently you get a lot for your money.
SERVICE
Sony is recognised worldwide and so is service availability, need I say more.
ACCESSORIES
Are in abundance as I bought my radio bare (just the head unit) I had no trouble in picking up the plug-in extras I wanted courtesy of eBay and will no doubt add more in time as the list is extensive.
TECHNICAL SPECS
Personally I’m a bit limited in this field so I recommend you visit the SONY Products page, type in the model number for the comprehensive list of features, capabilities and expansions availably. This gave me great confidence when bidding as I knew exactly what I was bidding on. Full marks again for Sony and the CDX-GT300.
INSTALLATION
Standard 1 Din slot with user friendly ISO wiring loom, you may need to use the adaptor to connect the aerial lead into it’s socket depending on your make of car. Childs play.
WHY BUY
I describe this model as a safe bet “Sony Classic” and I fear it will outlive me.
