Nice looking unit but doesn't live up to the price tag

I decided to go digital in the hope of being able to receive my local stations further away from home as I do a lot of milage, what I actually got was the opposite. First journey away from home and the digital signal was fading approx 10 miles before it would be with my old head unit/tuner, the signal was lost completely no further than one mile onwards. The same happens when in tuner mode which I was very disappointed about, with my 10 year old Pioneer on a clear day, I can drag this same radio station out a further 20 miles from where it was lost with the brand new Sony!
The sound quality is very good, probably better than my old unit, but afterall, the Sony is a higher output. Needless to say this unit will be coming out of my car and going into the works vehicle. If I had paid top whack for it (£235!!!) from the likes of Halfords or similar I would be taking it back to the shop and demanding my money back, but as I only paid £130 and have had it outside of the returns period I guess I will just have to suffer.
