It's the two way remote you see; that feature is unique.
If you label a disc or it is a CD Text disc then the Titles will be communicated to the remote, and you can use the remote's display to choose a disc by name. The latter CDP-CX455 model does not have this or the useful 'Group' facility which acts as a filter.
Long discontinued by Sony, your only hope is second hand.
Disadvantages: it doesn't play mp3 CDs - but if you wanted mp3 you'd have bought an ipod right?
