SONYS entry level full HD. 40" lcd tv.
Launched in late 2006.
Freeview ready, hd ready with 2 HDMI sockets. Supports full HD (1080p)
Priced at about £2000 at launch, now down to around £1500 - £1700 on the high street.
A great tv, if you are planning to use for watching blu-ray dvds, or just want to be a bit more "future ready" . plenty of connections available, on top of the 2 hdmi sockets, you also find 2 scart sockets and 1 componant input, plus the usual pc input, side inputs including an s-video, great for plugging a camera or camcorder into.
Was awarded 5 stars, and voted product of the year for tvs.
But if you want the best, and can stretch the finances a bit further - look at the sony x-series. It is their top of the range, and features a better bravia engine picture enhancer, which will help to enhance standard tv viewing until full HD broadcasts become available.
