Vary differant from there later albums but well worth listening to. May take a couple of times playing before you accept it for what it is and not copare it to there latist work.

Liked one song on album when i bought it. After listening i liked most, they had a raw quality,Snow Patrol are a lot more "polished" now.

Older But Not Better

I bought this album having become hooked on Final Straw. Hoping that Snow Patrol's earlier offering would be just as good I have to say I'm a little disappointed. This certainly doesn't come up to the standard of the boys' recent material. Buy this only if you're a dedicated fan and not just thinking like I did it would be just as good as Final Straw.

I bought this on release in 1998 and it slowly became a best friend. I have all their albums except eyes open as there music has become increasingly polished there is nothing left to discover by repeat listens which makes any album great.This is a heavier and 'rougher' record that allows the beauty of the poetic and obscure lyrics to seep through gradually giving a much more gratifying listening experience. You should bear in mind that you are more likely to enjoy this as a 'we are scientist' or 'foo's' fan than a fan of final straw.
