Snow Patrol - Final Straw (CD 2003)

One of the best current bands around. They were originally from Belfast, but got themselves going in Glasgow, i think. I like Chocolate and Run the most. The lead singer has a nice, but not necessarily powerful voice. I usually like a powerful voice, but it isn't necessary here; his voice works well enough with the music.

When Snow Patrol first appeared on the scene they were right up there with the best of the new alternative rock. A few years on from that and they've grown into a massive band, more pop than indie, and this was undoubtedly their best album release to that date.
From the opening track, how to be dead, this album shines like a star amongst the dire and mediocre clap trap that gets passed off as "must have" albums.
If you only buy one Snow Patrol album then this is the one to get, you just will not be disappointed and there isn't a bad track to be found here, just classic angst bleak pop from start to finish. Go buy it - you know it makes sense.

I absolutley love Snow Patrol, this album, along with "Eyes Open" have to be the most favourite of all time!!!

Was recommended to buy this album by my bro, was very dubious as his tastes are often strange, but have to say he was spot on with this one.

This was a fairly pre-planned purchase, in that I decided it was something I wanted and then looked on ebay rather than came across it and thought 'ohh, I want'. I always do this for CDs that aren't the band's most recent because it's just so much cheaper than buying them first hand. Anyways, it's a great album; Chocolate is an amazing track, Run is great for melodramatic late-night listening, and We Can Run Away Now They're All Dead And Gone is possibly the best title for a song ever. The album is consistent quality - you can listen to the whole thing without having to skip the odd annoying track, which is convenient. It's great. Buy it.
