Absolutely outstanding. I own their last album and i'm really into this aswell. I bought eyes open because I LOVE track 3, chasing cars. At first I put it on before going to bed, but by the morning I was hooked and it was instantly promoted to the car! (where it has stayed since) best track: 8 - Set the fire to the third, featuring Martha Wainwright. Will make you want to cry. Definately a good spend.

good, but its no final straw, that album was amazing, this album on the other hand seems to follow the convinient trend of bland pop albums doing well for no particuler reason, dont get me wrong it has its moments but i think they could have done better.

Fantastic fourth album from Snow Patrol, many as I did, will only buy it for the classic "Chasing Cars" but will soon love the rest of this great album too.
Perfect for listening to in the car, just watch your speed !

An excellent album! Absolutely love Final Straw so immediately bought Eyes Open without hearing any of the tracks on it and was well worth it.

If possible Eyes Open is even better than Final Straw. Amazing tracks ranging from uplifting to thought provoking.

used to really like Snow Patrol, they were never the most original or experimental band but they wrote great songs and seemed very genuine. After the great triumph that was Final Straw it was inevitable that lots of attention would be on their next offering.
Although still an acceptable album, Eyes Open sounds like it's been made to shift thousands of units and sell out stadiums. Songs like You're All I Have and Chasing Cars are so radio friendly it makes me cringe. However there still is some good stuff on show - Set The Fire To The Third Bar is brilliant and I really like one of the bonus tracks In My Arms.
To summarise if you like your music radio friendly and massively middle of the road you can't go far wrong with this.

this album by snow patrol is a quality album from start to finish the songs are so catchy and the lyrics are tremendous the only dislike is that there wasnt more tracks of this quality on the album not much of a dislike realy i was going to buy it anyway but managed to get it for an exellent price total quality

Snow Patrol top their gorgeous 'Final Straw' with this stunning album! Snow Patrol have developed and honed their individual style into a mature and beautiful sound, which has echoes of U2 at their finest, while still being utterly unique.

The lyrics are painfully, achingly beautiful, the melodies a range of delicious mellow numbers and stadium fillers. Lightbody's voice has never sounded better and this is by far their best album to date, and one of the finest of the year.

Existing fans will not be disappointed and they are sure to add an army of new fans with this outstanding piece of work. There's not a bad track on this. WOW!

After hearing Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars on the radio I decided to buy their latest album. I had never heard of them before but I am so pleased with this album!
Every track is different to the last and there is a real mix of styles and sounds. I could not get bored of listening to this.
Would recommend this album highly.

Ok, so this is my first CD by Snow Patrol and it rocks! Bought after hearing Chasing Cars among others, but would definately recommend it! More please :-)

Still trying to work out why there is the 'silence' - AKA little girl goes flakey. For those who haven't heard it, (and pump up the volume) the mike was left open inbetween recording tracks.

A whole track wasted IMHO, this could have been another great song.

Bought this album hoping it would be as good as their first and it was much better.
Chasing Cars is the best track on the album, you just have to listen to the words.
All I have is also a very good track!!!

If you enjoyed the outstanding tracks on Final Straw, eg Spitting Games, Chocolate then you will simply love this album of beautifully crafted songs that enhance the vocal qualities of Mr Lightbody more than I thought possible.
This is an outstandingly produced piece of music and whilst I respect the opinion of so many others with regards to "Third Bar" it has simply yet to thoroughly grab me, however Chasing Cars and Its Beginning to get to me are just simply classics the first time you hear them. I simply cannot praise this album enough -- there were probably half a dozen albums thus far this year that I was more looking forward to hearing and yet this one knock the spots off every other one.

This is another fine offering from the legend that is Snow patrol, my favourite track being "chasing cars" if you like cold play, Keane you will love Snow Patrol.

this just has to be the album of the year.they get better and better.i didnt think they could top the final straw but garys songwriting and voice gets better.every track is excellent and all are different.chasing cars,hands open are my favourites but every track is a gem,snow patrol have worked hard for their success and they deserve it.

I really like the CD as a whole, well put together with some verity and It is one of those CD's you could just play all the way through.

This is a must have, its full of passion, love and excitment that you can stick on repeat all day long!

I bought this as I have there last album (which was fantastic) and fell in love with there new song "Chasing Cars"!!! I work in different areas everyday so it is perfect to listen to in the car. The words of the songs really inspire me... They are just the best group ever!!!!

This CD is Good but not quite excellent because i find with any artist (even your favourate) you always have tracks that dont light up the room.
That aside, Chasing cars is by far the best track on the album and if you are in a new or old relationship, have a glass of red or white wine, you MUST play this track as it is a thinking, remanising and caring song!! You can almost or will relate to this track and the other work is quite sensational.

Trust me and please rate my review, if you disagree then I am surprised but it is well worth a buy and can be enjoyed as background music with a meal and guests or on your own to think about past or current events!
