Smallville - Series 2 - Complete (DVD 2004)

when i brought this DVD i was excited to see it but when i received it with no DVDs i was very disappointed.I have contacted the seller over and over but no reply even through the complaints department,very very disappointed.....

i dislike that i never recieve this item. i never even got a e-mail explaining why. i was very upset seeing how i paid for the item and never recieved it.

For many fans, the Superman revisionist series Smallville truly hit its stride in its second series, when it shifted focus from traditional comic book conflicts to one of self-discovery for its hero, a teenage Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Fans and first-timers can judge for themselves with this six-disc set, which collects all 23 episodes and a decent selection of supplemental features. Whereas series 1 focused on Clark using his powers to combat a host of menaces as in the WB's other big fantasy hit, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, series 2 delved into Clark's past and the extent of his super powers, most notably in the back-to-back "Heat", in which he discovers his heat vision, and "Red," in which red kryptonite uncorks Clark's less-than-upstanding side. Other plot developments that pull the series in interesting directions include the arrival of Dr Helen Bryce (Emanuelle Vaugier), who becomes involved with Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), but the series' most significant moment comes during episode 17, "Rosetta", in which Clark learns of his Kryptonian origins courtesy of a scientist, who, in an effective bit of casting, is played by Superman star Christopher Reeve.

The complexity of the writing and the issues dealt with in series 2 marked Smallville as a series with depth and drama worthy of its considerable fan following as well as a second boxed set; fittingly, the supplements in this set are more expansive than on the first one. Producers Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Greg Beeman and cast members Welling, Rosenbaum and Kristen Kreuk weigh in on commentary tracks for two episodes ("Red" and "Rosetta"), while a trio of short featurettes explore Christopher Reeves' appearance in "Rosetta", the show's visual effects and the amusing "Wall of Weird" web page maintained by Chloe (Allison Mack). The extras are rounded out by a handful of deleted scenes and a gag reel

Advert said not new but when it arrived it was as new. Came next day. All discs worked. Would use seller again.

Excellent packaging in good condition with complete DVD inlays etc, all played very well and no problems.

If your a smallvill fan this is a must. Its full of action and several cut scene's that you dont get to see on t.v. I got this frome-bay because it was an esay way to get hold of the dvd and you know it was going to be in good condition. My kids love it my wife loves it so its a must buy

I love smallville to the extent that i had to buy the dvd set,
apart from the fact it is good entertainment there is no swearing,sex,or any nudity, the plots are all short & easy to follow but you also get to experience the hypothetical growing pains of the most famous hero of them all.
When you sit and watch the whole season you can also make out the bigger picture of the life,loves & the tribulations of superman as he comes to terms with the growing power that is his by birth and the temptations that comes his way.

If you like superman you will love smallville but dont expect flight and tights. but if you into early days of superman and seeing him overcoming new powers this is for you

its a good series easily over the price i paid, in retail shops. free delivery good seller no problems. overall 100% satisfied i didnt need to leave my bedroom. excellent

I'm in the process of working my way through all the seasons having previously only watched on tv from the end of season 7. Season 2 brings us some really great episodes - it was particularly interesting getting the chance to see whiter than white Clark as a bad boy due to the effects of red Kryponite!
Also, it was great to see Christopher Reeve as Dr Swann.

So far the series hasn't failed to keep me under its spell and leaving me with a red Kryptonite related cliffhanger only served to make me start bidding on season 3 very quickly!!

Love this show never watched when was on tv but thought would give it a go and now im addicted. A def must see show

I am a huge fan of Smallville and series 2 ticks all the boxes.this series gets better and better.the episodes are well acted and have brillant storylines,i also recommend series 3 of Smallville

I have been a big Superman fan for years and this a great series.The stories are very good and i particular like the fact that lex and clark were good friends and that lex changed due to his lack of luv from lionel.

Season 2 of 'Smallville' continues the story of 'Superman to be' Clark Kent and his trials and tribulations in his small hometown. Season 2 moves away from the meteor rock powered 'bad guy of the week' formula of the 1st season and begins to explore the relationships between Clark and the other main Characters.

Clark' relationship with Lana grows more complex, whilst Chloe tries to come to terms with being the girl in the shadows. Pete struggles with keeping Clark's secret, and of course there is Clark's strange relationship with Lex.

Season 2 is very well made and tells some excellent stories. It also gives the cast some meatier relationship-based scenes to performs which they all manage very well.

Overall this a very enoyable series to watch

I did not catch it first time round so i bought the first series and i am hooked well acted, and seems to get better each series, season 2 was great bring on series 3,4,5,6,and 7 cant wait.

smallville is about the early days of superman before he decide to put on the red cape. it as all the characters from the films including lois lane. i bought this for my bf as he is really into but missed a few as there are so many.

I Am A Great Superman Fan, And When Smallville Came On Air, I Was Hooked, Its A Series Following The One True Superhero, But Not As You Would Think, Its About Clark Kent As A Teen Boy Coming To Terms With All These New A Wounderful Powers He Has, With A Bit Of A Love Story Thrown In For Good Measure, Trust Me, Watch It Once And You Can't Wait For The Next Episode.

Reason For Buying This DVD, I Was Trying Download Each Episode But Taking Too Long

Great series, one of the best :) Highly recommended! I really like the season finale, and the chemistry between the actors and actresses is very good.

I bought the boxset as only just got into Smallville and I am buying them one season at a time. The box and discs where good as new :-) thanku very much.

Smallville: The Complete Season Two has everything. Honestly, it could be the super-fan in me, but this season is chock full of "whoa" moments. While viewers are well aware of the eventual destinies of Lex Luthor and the man who will become Superman, watching their doomed friendship build is truly the driving force of the series. We know they will eventually want to kill one another, we know Lana and Clark are doomed to fail as a couple, and we know the type of man Clark becomes. However, it's how we get there that matters this time around. While the first season served to introduce the cast and the town, the second spends more time developing these interpersonal relationships. As in Greek tragedy, the father/son relationships and rivalry help captain the series' direction.

For the sake of review, I will address my concerns on an episode-by-episode basis. However, it is worth mentioning that the season intentionally builds to its strongest and most crucial episode "Rosetta."

I never ever wanted to see these series but after my friend keep bothering me I tried to watch some episodes and now I'm a big fan of this. One more series to keep me busy.
