Sink The Bismarck! (DVD)

This story is about one of the WWII most famous sea battles it is set in the Spring of 1941, Nazi Germany's greatest battleship - The Bismarck, the scourge of Atlantic Shipping, is pinned down at her anchorage in Norway. Making a break for freedom and the safety of air cover from the Luftwaffe (German Air force) the Great ship is chased by the British Navy.
Eventually after heavy casualties including the loss of HMS Hood, the Bismarck is finally trapped and sunk.

Kenneth More stars as Captain Sheppard, the Admiralty's director of Naval Operations, who embittered by the death of his wife in an Air raid, is assigned to this post just as the Bismarck makes her escape.

The film is shot in a semi-documentary style movie in Black & White 94mins

High interest naval film of an important conquest in WW2

I have a high interest in all seagoing adventures

Good old black and white WW2 movie they dont come much better
but also there cant be many people who have not seen this classic
but if you havn't get on and buy one.Kenneth More and Dana Wynter
star with lots of 'old' faces too many to mention. 10/10

I am really pleased with this DVD, I bought it as a present for my father so I know he will love it, I received it quickly and the postage rate was reasonable, so overall I am well pleased with my purchase.

Well i really liked this film starring Kenneth Moore, he plays a good part as always, the film shows real sea footage and for its time was a really good film, the story line was well presented and the chase was exciting, if your a war fan it will take you back to the war years and let you know what life was really like baack then, so different from today.overall i liked this film and watched it all the way through, recomended watching.

This was something my husband wanted as part of his Xmas present so went onto e-bay to see if I could find it. Low and behold there it was, I was delighted and so was he on Xmas Day.
Had a little concern though because it took awhile to arrive but the seller was most helpful and e-mailed to say would replace it if it did not come. It arrived the next day so all was well.

I saw this film when it was first released. I enjoy war films and feel it was a good addition to my collection.

it's an excellent film, portraying a few dark days of the britsh admiralty during world war 2 to sink the greatest battleship ever built.
the acting is solid, head by Kenneth More, who was an excellent actor, and Dana Winter his chief aide.
the film follows closely the events leading up to the finding, chasing and eventual sinking of the bismarck
