Simple Kid - Clever Bloke

I first caught this guy on one of those C4 Music biogs, promoting his latest album, SK2. I liked what I heard, so bought the CD and was suitably impressed with the degree of originality. This prompted me to seek out this one and I have to say, I think it is my favourite of the two. I think there are a range of influences coming through the good variety of song styles. I can hear Blur, Oasis, Steve Miller Band, Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Kinks but don't let that put you off. Some of the subject matter may be on the iffy side for some people (drugs), but they probably wouldn't like this anyway. If you don't like this album you probably only own five cds and one of those was a newspaper give away.

I decided to buy this CD after seeing Simple Kid Live at a recent Erasure concert at Nottingham Royal Centre. I thought that he was very good and not an every day sort of pop singer like a lot of the run of the mill stuff around today. Both my wife and i enjoyed his individuality and his music although i must state that for the younger buyers or parents that there are some references to drug related topics on this cd.
I have no dislikes about this cd and recomend it to anyone who likes something a little different.
