i had the Nikon lens 18-55mm and i think this sigma is just as good if not better as it has a larger glass element on the front better looking and preforms just as good it is compact and light weight to so will not take up to much room in your camera bag

Colours are vivid with excellent contrast.
The automatic focusing is quick and precise even in bad lighting conditions.

A great lens to leave on the camera all the time and macro as well - what more could you want? I paid £45 so they are very affordable and I would recommend one to anyone as a "standard lens".
