Siemens SL55

Sold my last SL55 to a friend and regret it. There are likely to be phones that are smaller, but I haven't seen them. The new generation of small phones are thin but still take up too much space in your pocket or, if female, purse.
The SL55 is still the only phone that fits into a standard jeans ticket pocket and that is robust enough to withstand the stresses of being close to your waistline.
It's illumination is great. You can open and text one-handedly and it has that useful feature of an external speaker so that you can converse hands-free and take notes.
As far as a camera phone goes, I've little use for one, especially as 3Gig ones are so expensive. I've tried the attachment but wasn't impressed. Better just to use it for making and receiving calls or texts.

I already have this phone so when mine broke I decided that as I knew how it worked I would get another one, it had to be a used one as they don't make this phone anymore. I am not a massive "gizmo" fan and I have a proffessional digital camera so having a phone without a camera wasn't an issue for me, I don't use it for the internet, just to make and recieve calls and texts, so this phone is ideal fo my needs, its small enough to fit into the tiniest of handbags and suits my needs perfectly.

I think it is very trendy, compact, and lightweight. Bought it because i needed to change the one i had, although was very happy with my previous one, i wanted something more stylish.

this moible phone was in perfect shape it was well worth the money i got a real bargain my son is so delighted with it , he reckons its the best phone he has ever had and i have forked out more than £150 at times for phones for him there was no marks or scrathes on the phone and it works perfect it is better than it was descibed on ebay site i will be buying from this person again no dought about it ,, thankyou ,

I bought this phone as a nostalgic piece for my collection but its a real novelty, the limited edition amber and black casing really sets the phone off. I would go so far as to say that this is quite possibly the best phone built by Siemens but do take that with a pinch of salt as I am a 'Nokia man' through and through, I won't use anything else unless its a real novelty, these phones are now about five years old in 2008 and its easy to see that they were way ahead of their time when they were released, I do believe that all they were missing to keep pace with todays market is Bluetooth and a camera but of course a camera can be purchased as a seperate accessory. The menu system is not as user friendly as a Nokia but its not a million miles off, the user wouldn't need a degree to figure it out. This is a phone I'll keep safe as they are not as readily available now but nonetheless they are well worth the buy even its just for the seemingly tiny but neat chassis. The only negative comment I would make is that if you are in the habit of pocketing your mobile then be careful as movement can slide the phone open and before you know it you could be calling Taiwan. Overall a very good phone and it is a pity that Siemens didn't continue the line with newer, more modern models as I believe they were truly on to something with the SL55.

The phone is good and and does what is claimed, down side is that the battery life is terrible, requires a dailly charge, or at least mine does.

This phone is really great. I had one for 3 years and only ever used it when I was going out but its still a talking piece now

also outlasted 3 consecutive years upgrades

I ordered the phone because when visiting Cyprus I decided to take my previous one for a swim in the sea, needless to say it did not enjoy it and went belly up on me. Anyway I ordered my Siemens through eBay and can only say"Im Impressed" everything went 100% and I will be doing further business in the future. You can bank on that. Oh Yes the phone is just great.
