The cd features the theme tunes to the Sweeney tv programme and films as well as much of the incidental music used
Funky sleazy grooves from the musicians of the day! Most notably Herbie Flowers who was hired by David Bowie because of his name!
You can tell with each song what it was used for in the programme, theres dramatic, car chase to sneaking through the dark lanes music.
If you like scratchy seventies guitar, cool base lines and fast paced hi hats this cd is for you.
There aren't any hit songs of the day and very little actual 'singing' but its a great cd to have on in the background or if you need something to put on in the car during a stake out or whilst planning a blag!
My only complaint is the tv programme dialogue between tracks. First time you listen to it you laugh, 2nd time you smile, by the third time it becomes a bit tedious!

Lets see - it has music. It has a cool cover...it has an interesting booklet about the history of the show. And then it has some x-rated speaking (which isn't realy x-rated). The music is good but alot of the catchy themes have not been added. The music is enjoyable but after the first 50 times it does get rather predicale and boring in places. If you played it in the car then you might crash because the beats and rhythms are quite fantastic. The long version of the sweeney opening theme has mad guitar work , which makes it a must to listen to. If you are a huge Sweeney fan (such as myself) then it is a must to get a hold of. If not then it is still a good buy if you like mad guitar music and good orchestra work in parts. And due to it's limited production run it should keep increasing in value....so grab on now before they become a rareity and go for around £25.

I bought this item as a gift for my boyfriend who is mad on The Sweeney, he said it was Superb, its the music and quotes from the programme. its an item I would never have found in the shops.

Reminds me of the 70's and also the original tv series
although you have to be a sweeney fan, the music is still good. The additional comments that have been added are very good and for a small cost the cd is very good value
to get a true feeling this is a must, but dont expect there to be No 1's in this cd

This album is not bad at all. I would discribe it as very 70's funk and a bit of rock but awesome cool grooves. It was a suprise because I though the music would have been pop 70s rock.
I taken a chance to buying it because I was looking for something different, and being a sweeney fan it is worth a listen, any people who like cool funk type music, some tunes on here are a must, so why not buy and you will see what I mean.

I brought this cd as i am a big fan of the tv series. It is good to hear longer versions of the music featured on the tv series i also like the snippets of dialogue between music. There is nothing that i didn`t like i would highly recomend it to anyone that liked the tv series.

I love the Sweeney on the television and saw the cd in HMV but decided to buy off Ebay the seller was great everything ran smoothly and I received the CD very quickly, Fantastic CD everything that I hoped for
