Until you use these earphones, you have never heard your music collection properly. Like anyone else I was thinking "earphones for £200? How much? I don't think so" but after taking the plunge you will not regret it. I use my ipod daily and am still surprised at the sounds I hear unexpectedly. I think it's when they refer to the soundstage that you notice the difference. Some earphones give you sounds in the left ear or the right and maybe just in your head, with these it seems there are sounds "here", "over there" and "behind" if that makes sense. You need to try all the earbud sizes for a good fit, but when you do you'll be walking home from work hearing nothing in the outside world, only perfect music, it's quite a smug feeling knowing no-one else is experiencing such LUXURY! and why not, you've paid for it, and you DESERVE it.

Amazing headphones brings out the music in the songs
Review created: 29/05/08

Given the high price of these headphones I was reluctant to buy them for nearly a year. In that time I tried Shure e2c, e3c and eventually e4c. Each time there was a noticeable jump in quality, hence my decision to jump in and buy the Shure e530.

These headphones do not disappoint, the sound is tight and allows you to hear the instruments clearly. Combined with the iPod Touch I don't hear the hiss that some reviews have mentioned with these headphones. The music and films have bass and midrange that is sometimes lacking from other headsets.

In addition, having short leads with extension cables is a good idea because you can have cables wired into jackets and then connect the headset.

  Shure SE530: Amazing.
Review created: 14/11/09

Simply worth every penny! I hade Shure E2Cs before, which were already really good, and there's quite a big jump in quality when upgrading to the SE530s.
Definitely recommended!

  They impressed this jaded audiophile
Review created: 10/11/09

Well they didn't come cheap, but I'm willing to spend these sums on my audio equipment. Having said that even if you are not the most demanding of your audio, these headphones will be well worth the investment.

Pros:
They are noticeably better than my Shure E4cs, and get very close to my home system. The noise insulation is far better than any of the canceling headphones I've tried and they've got the foam inserts spot on this time. Very comfortable to wear. The bass is brilliant and makes the E4cs (and Etymotics I've used) seem anaemic in comparison. Dynamic range is excellent.

Cons:
The headphones are a bit big, but you don't notice them when on. The little storage box is unnecessarily large so I think I'll use my old E4c case instead. The sound is a bit warm, but this is great since such warmth although not 'accurate' makes audio from low bitrate sources like music players sound better.

Conclusions:
If you have the dough this is a no brainer. Even if you don't, it's well worth saving up a bit in order to score a pair of these. They aren't as good as a good studio, but considering the size and price these are all the more impressive. Highly recommended.

Exellent In-ear, but got cable problem
Review created: 09/11/09

Shure SE530 is a good In-ear. It has got a excellent sound quality. It is good for listening in mid-range and bass but ok for high range. The body is beautiful and durable. Only one downside is a cable problem. It can be inflexible and cracked. In addtion the customer who buy from ebay is not in the warranty policy.
Before you buy, you should ask seller for original reciept.

The best earphones I've ever heard
Review created: 07/10/09
by:

I'd already tried an earlier, lower-tech pair of Shure earphones (model E4) and discovered that 'in-ear' phones (sometimes called earbuds) are much better than the ones that sit in just the external ear (the bit you can see on the side of your head, or 'pinna' as medical doctors call it). It's not just better isolation from outside sound, but better bass response.

The SE530 are SO much better again. After listening to them for a while and then going back to the E4 (which I'd previously considered good) it was obvious that the high price is justified. If you value music as an enjoyable art form and not just as a soundtrack to whatever you're doing at the time, then SE530s are for you. You've just got to figure out how to justify the cost before you buy them. You'll have no problem justifying it afterwards!

The only note of caution is that from a comfort point of view in-ear phones don't suit everyone. Fortunately Shure provide a selection of different styles of ear canal insert so you've several sizes and shapes from which to choose. However you might want to try a cheaper pair of Shures before forking out for the SE530, just in case you're never going to find them acceptable.

The truest phrase I know is "you get what you pay for" and that certainly applies here, these headphones are pretty expensive for a set of headphones, and may not be suited for everyone but (and it is a big but) if you can stretch to these headphones and can appreciate how good music can sound then stop reading this and buy a set now.
From the aluminium case and vast amount of ear fitting and cabling options that come with it to the lightweight triple driver headphones themselves, they scream quality. personally I don't think the push to talk module will get a lot of use, but it does work well, just a bit bulky for my liking.
Now the reason i bought these is for the quality. I can guarantee that when you try these you will hear parts of your favorite song you never knew existed! The sound isolation is second to none, no battery powered packs to attempt to electronically cancel out noise, just proper fitting ear buds. These work perfectly, enabling you to fully appreciate the quality. you get perfect reproduction of bass tones through to the highest note you can imagine, with a beautiful stereo image. in fact stereo doesn't do them justice, the sound appears to be 360 degrees.

To sum up, perfection in sound, ultimate comfort, tad expensive.
Highly recommended

These are the most amazing earphones, just as good as live music. When I bought theses I thought that they may not be up to scratch but they exceeded my epectations for the first time in a long while. Once you have had these earphones you never put cheap ones back in yours ears. The only down side is that they are bit on the heavy side.

  Shure SE530 earphones
Review created: 21/05/09

Fantastic earphones.
Takes a few attempts to pick the right earbud squidgy things to fit in your ear but once sorted they are fantastic.
The detail that these earphones put into your head is outstanding.
Packed with a variety of adaptors and a volume control they are actually great value for money. Sounds bizarre at the price I know but quality always costs.
At home I use Sennheiser HD650s and these are comparable when used with lossless audio files, just nowhere near as loud.
Very highly recommended
