Shure SE420 Professional Headphones

Crystal clear, rich sound. Having owned a pair of SE110s also, I can say the extra money is worth it for the clearly distinguishable improvement in quality.
Discrete yet powerful and the modular design makes it excellent for use with other cabling systems. Highly recommended.

Well, firstly i'm not an expert in earphones nor am i a heavy user in ipod. So please only read this if you're just a casual listener like me.

Ok, Shure SE420. Overall I like it. I have to. when u've spent more than 100 pounds on something... i think on sub-conscious level ur mind tells u that whatever u find in the box u're going to like it!
The sound is... good... to tell u the truth i don't really know actually. I used to use standard ipod earphones so compared to those it's obviously better, but is it worth paying more than 100pounds? hmm...duno really.
The look isn't that fashionable... but then u don't buy Shure earphones for looks so i've been told. So it's all performance performance performance. Like i said im not an expert in music... i don't change my EQ settings each time i listen to different music... so maybe that's why i'm not feeling the awesomeness of SHURE earphones so many ppl have confessed about.
In summary, if you have the money and you want to buy something that you can show to your friends with pride and confidence knowing that Tis Iz Da SHURE SE420 EArphOnEs then by all means get this earphones. well...I did.

These are an upgrade from my old Shure e4c's so this it what I am comparing with.

PRO'S

The twin drivers do give you a fuller sound on the low and the low mid. Vocals do seem to have been tweaked and the instrument separation is magical.
With the larger drivers and the physical increase in size they do hold far better in the ear. They also seem to be lighter. Another big difference that I have noticed is the cable noise is substantially reduced when rubbed on clothes and with movement.

CON'S

There wasn't As big in deference between the e4c and the se420's as I'd hoped.
They don't feel as well made. Your not able to unscrew the port of the earphone to give it a full clean. Or replace it if it brakes.

Over all a great upgrade especially if you can find them around the 120 pounds mark! Stop thinking about it and do it, put you money where your mouth is!! =)

These things are ace. I use to have an old pair of shure e3c earphones which were great but these things wipe the floor with them especially if you get them for 125 quid! Great on flights as u really can t hear a thing (like the kid screaming its head off in front of you)!
