Shirley Valentine (DVD 2004)

The Dvd came well packaged, was brand new and the seller gave an excellent service. I would definitely use this seller again- I believe him to be fair honest and a trustworthy ebayer.

I bought this as a gift for a family member who had talked about it for a long time, it was impossible to buy in the high street and when i saw it on ebay for under £5 i couldnt resist. This was my first DVD purchase and i was deighted when it was delivered the next day wrapped in cellophane. This purchase gave me faith in buying more items as it was delivered exactly as advertised.

Bought for a friend who would appreciate this well balanced fictional production.

There was never a moment utter unpleasantness but more of self exploration. Now there is a real life actuality.

shirley valentine is one of my all time favourite films, as a woman it is every womans dream to up and do just what she did. it is a brilliant film that i enjoy everytime i watch it.

I just love this film, its a bit of escapeism from the every day things we do. Unforunately I didnt buy it as it got lost in the post.

Great film. A classic!! Can't be faulted . Must have watched this a thousand times and the last copy is worn out.

This is one of those films what I would call A Golden Oldie which I think gets better each time you watch it. Great acting from all of the cast (including the wall and the rock) also lovely Greek background scenery. All in all a great film.

We had seen this as a film at the cinema a long while ago we decided we would like to see it again. A DVD seemed the ovious thing and as I have been a EBayer for a long time this was the place to get it

i love this movie, really funny but has it's aww moments, great to watch on your own or with a few girlie mates, or even with ur bloke but its a all round brill film.
the 80;s style costumes are quite funny to!!

This film is from a time when nothing was taken for granted. Shirley threw off the chains that bound her to the kitchen sink and in doing so found someone within herself whom she recognised as her long lost carefree teenage self. The same girl from before the time that responsibilties and expectations had held her hostage. A heart warming tale that most people can identify with at some level...oh except maybe a shallow footballers wife type!

I bourght this dvd for a member of my family,who thinks this is a fantastic dvd very funny to watch great value for money

All time classic, the original Bridget Jones!

if you have never watched this film, gove it a go, i can guarantee you will enjoy it and watch it over and over again :-)

Pauline Collins at her best in this Holiday classic, brilliant story, one which we all would like to do given half the chance.
Saw the film years ago, now since I've got back from Greece I remembered the film and decided to buy it and watch it again

What is there not to love about this film.....

A wonderful lesson of life elaborated in a humourous and sensitive way... I laughed at it when I first watched it at 26 and now embarking upon a 'girly' holiday in september at the age of 4.......er hummmmmm..... I still find it hilarious and touching....

So get your mates round and laugh together.... 'cos life's just too short :o)

I had seen the movie before but it is one of those that I can watch and watch at a time that suit me - it is an excellent movie and I would recommend anyone who has not seen it to at least rent or borrow a copy. Most women will be able to relate to the characters in the film Shirley played by Pauline Collins it is try to life and for anyone brave enough you to could find romance. What is there to dislike about a feel good film like this.

Great movie this is a classic and so down to earth.
Just about everyone has a bit of these dreams in them, quit everything and go to the sun.
Sod the nine to five and walking to work in the rain.

Good English humour,excellent actors,a film couples can laugh at together.Bought this copy because wife has worn out the last disk!

bought it for mum nan as a present. and also she is renewing all here videos for dvd. it is a old classics film.

Shirley Valentine the film, is a pleasant piece of middle-aged escapeism, and the character is equally a version of someone many of us have moments wishing we might be like.
You will enjoy this film if you have a taste for Greece and wine and sunsets and dreams of escaping from the mundane life at home.
There were moments when the script might have been better adjusted a little: "here I am a housewife of 42" when she looks hardly a day under 52 at least; and the scenes as a twenty year old newlywed were even more brave... thank God her as a schoolgirl was passed to a young actress!
But I saw this when it came out in 1989, and enjoyed it far more this time, and that says a lot... was even sometimes almost in a tearful empathy at the beauty of Shirley's new life.
Just sit back and think of England!

Ilove this film, Pauline Collins is brilliant and her story is every housewife"s dream.Funny, sad in parts but most of all entertaining.I decided to buy it for all the right reasons.
