This is John Hughes at his best, mixing post-teen angst with parenthood. Anyone who has ever had kids could not fail to cry in the final scenes. It is a superb blend of the surreal (dancing with lawnmowers) and the very real (tight trousers causing infertility). It should of been a massive hit when it came out but somehow passed people by, and is now mentioned in a wispered hush. It's amazing how many people don't know they've seen this film until they are reminded of certain scenes. It is always remembered with fondness. An absolute classic.
