Sharp Sidekick® 3

An excellent phone. The qwerty keyboard makes it really easy to text. Its alot smaller than the Sidekick 2, so it looks really slick covered in Swarovski Crystals and will get many evious stares from other people!
Unless you have a T-Mobile Contract, you won't be able to use the internet and aol messenger/ yahoo messenger service. But apart from that it is a very popular phone and vary rare to buy on pay as you go in the uk. So beware of sellers selling the US models which will not work in the UK x

The sidekick 3 is a brillant phone best thing that ever came out of a T-Mobile shop the qwerty keyboard makes it fun and easy to txt and the swivel screen make it look very professional and business like and it totally works on pay as you go from T-Mobile only.

the sidekick 2 is an amazing phone it has all the functions you need and more!!this is the worlds trendiest and most sought after phone.texting is sooo easy it has a camera,email you set up your own personal email address and account.you have im,games,tones,camera,email and many many more things.a fantastic phone i have had many compliments with this.

I loved the design of the phone because it was very different from the mobiles out in the market now. I was looking for a fone that stands out in the crowd because that is just my personality and I felt the Sidekick 3 was perfect for that. The large screen and the spread out keypad attracted me the most as well as the internet capabilities. Although the camera isn't very high resolution, it doesn't really matter if you already have a Digital Camera. So overall I really liked this product...but mainly because of the swivel feature because if that wasn't there, its just like any other smartphone..but that just brings in the coolness!!

excellent overall, camera is a bit rubbish but brilliant for communication and text maniacs!
qwerty keyboard is an great feature and the swivel screen always grabs attention.
would definately recommend as a phone and communication device. xx

I bought this phone for my daughter and used this seller based on the excellent reviews he had received, but I would strongly advise anyone else buying from him. The phone arrived. I could not get it to work. I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong and so took it to a couple of local shops to be advised by them both and entirely separately that it was a second hand phone. I should also add that some of the advertised parts were not included. I emailed the seller. He agreed I could return the phone and he would replace it but he expected me to pay half the postage costs. I pointed out that I failed to see why I should incur expense for his fault. He then agreed to reimburse postage costs and send me a new phone blaming the problems with his original phone on the supplier. The second phone arrived. Again I could not get it to work. I took it to local shops who could not get it to work. Although the phone was advertised as unlocked a vodaphone sim card would not work. I took it to 2 separate T mobile shops neither of whom could get it to work and again and entirely separately both told me the phone simply would not work whatever I did to it. I emailed the seller and stated that I wanted to return the phone and have my money back and reimbursement for any further postage charges. The intimation of his reply was that he had done all he felt was reasonable and he was going to take the matter up with ebay. I had held off sending a review in the hope this matter could be resolved, but I stated if I did not hear I would post a review and take the matter up myself which I am now doing. I have not heard from him again. I do not buy regularly by ebay, but over the years have bought things and on at least one occasion for an amount much higher than this phone. I have had no problems and have had had an excellent record for purchases. I cannot understand how this seller has in the past received such a good record supplying phones such as this and then, in effect, washing his hands of the matter. The first phone dide not even have charger unit for it. There were also other parts missing. Whilst the second phone did not work it did at least have the correct charger unit,but no other accessories, but rightly or wrongly I was content not to pursue that issue if the phone itself had worked.I cannot understand how a supposedly reputable dealer can simply wash his hands of goods which do not work. I suppose anyone can build up good responses if there is no problem with what they supply. I would suggest that the real test is how a complaint is dealt with. This seller cetainly fails on that point having now provided 2 phones which do not work and refusing to do anythintg about it.

The thing i liked about the phone is the spring loaded flip up, and it is a decent phone, but the thing i didn't like about it was i had to reset all the settings to make it work in the UK. But overall it is a good phone

Just a quick one..
I have wanted a sidekick for so long and finally got one (mainly because of the swivel screen, great qwerty keypad and multicoloured trackball, so the gimmicks, but shhh!) not long ago for a great price, even though it was the sidekick 3 (slightly old 2006/07) - though still a top quality piece of equipment if texting is very important to you.
The address book is very detailed, including occupation questions, d.o.b. questions and such others for your contacts.
The fact that there is expandable memory is always a bonus. The mp3 player is pretty good in terms of layout of the menu in it, and music can still be listened to whilst doing other stuff on the phone

However, as i am not on the tmobile network i couldn't access other key highlights of the phone such as the internet browser or email.
Also, i didn't like how there were only three themes that you could choose from rather than being given the option to choose from your photos as well. This is an improvement Sidekick should think about if they haven't done so already. I understand that it is the classic menu but seeing a cartoon lady as your main screen all the time on a purple background does get a bit tedious! :)
This is the same with ring tones - there are only a certain amount on there and there is not the possibility for you to choose one of your songs on the memory card as the ring tone.

I am chuffed with the phones gimmicks though, really! Sidekick does this splendidly! As well as all the cool little gimmicks and settings you can delve into, there is airplane mode on it which is always convenient on a phone. Overall i would highly recommend this phone if you're not fussed about petty things like the background of your screen and having your own tune as your ringtone :) It's just as funky as it looks!

Great phone the wife loves it, but theres one big problem.
The phone needs a contact from T-mobile usa that supports the internet, the phone can only be used for phone calls and sms + mms

I love the phone, it's exactly what i wanted.
I wanted a reasonably old phone that is easy to function and quite basic compared to the newer versions of the sidekick. This phone compares to no other apart from the upgrades. I just love it and am very happy with this product.

This is a really good phone . it is different and it is fun to use. I decided to buy it because i had heard that it is a good phone from my friends so i took their their advice and bought a sidekick 3

All my friends are jealous of me as it seems like Im the only one who has the sidekick phone and they might get one for themselves now as well! I bring it everywhere with me now and I always make sure that i show it off to everyone.
