) The film is typical of the seventies action blaxploitation films.The musical score all the way through is excellent,Richard Roundtree is the actor who plays the main character and is a really cool guy.The action could be better but typical of the seventies.Excellent documentary at the end shows you how the film was made.

) Story: One of the first black action heroes blasts onto the Hollywood scene in this tale of John Shaft, a private eye who sets out to find the missing daughter of a Harlem gang kingpin.
Comments: I LOVE the Theme song!
Every time when you hear it on the background it fills you with emotion.
The Movie Itself ( early 1970's ) was quite a revolution.
Shaft was 1 of the 1st black heroes in that time.
Giving him a role as a detective, and filming downtown & all, quite unique in that time.
Compared to present day movies it isn't a blockbuster, not mutch special effects and all that, but more pure background story into the neighborhood of the average gang related black guy in that time.
See this movie more as a documentary on ''hood'' life then as a ''Blade'' movie
Good 4/5 in my book
