Had a few sets of cordless headphones before this, all of the infra red variety, and all had their own merits, but were either too 'clunky' (philips) or uncomfortable after about half an hour. Investigation was needed...
After reading a lot of reviews, it was apparent these phones were either 1. 'hissy' (usually an IR problem), 2. hard to tune in, 3. easy to knock off tune, and 4. hard to keep on your head when gardening. All fair comments apart from the last one for me, but can see the point - these can be listened to almost anywhere in your property, either inside or out. So, my answers to most common 'cons' are:
1. Never found them any where near hissy unless they were badly tuned to the transmitted (you have 3 tuning post settings to use, and once locked on, I have never needed to change it)
2. See above, read the instructions and follow them, once tuned, you can forget unless below comes into it.
3. This is a possible grump, the volume and tuning rotaries are close to each other, but the volume is above the tune wheel, so if you adjust volume as I do by starting at the top and sliding finger down to first wheel, again, no problem, just need to get used to it
4. As I use these mainly for late night listening, I dont tend to go gardening at this time, but can see others problem, as they are not the closest fitting phones in the world, as the earpieces are 'flat' across the ear and dont 'cup' the ears, I can see why some get annoyed that they slide off if bending down to pick up the obligatory garden crisp packet. I welcome this the way I use them, as they dont cut off circulation or give me headaches - but if they are advertised that they can be used outside for x amount of metres, then I suppose it is a consideration?
'pros' section -
They are comfy. They do have a good range both inside and out, as they worked between rooms and up&downstairs without any break in signal, and dont have a vast garde , but was happy listening to TMF while in the sun the other day. They look like proper headphones. Battery life (so far) is excellent.
One major thing I like is that other units ive had had to unplug the mains charger when finished using, mainly due to heat in plug and transmitter. This is vastly better as once unplugged from the TV (or other source), the transmitter goes off after a short while and doesnt need power, so can only presume the transmitter sorts all this out as the mains is cool the next day, and only slightly warm (as expected) when operating, so transmitter seems to be controller like I said. Not a big problem to connect audio plug each time, if thats all you have to do, others were becoming a pig to plug power and audio in, and unplugging after use - all this needs is to plug into source, switch headphones on and its up and running.
And lastly, for a cordless setup, without a doubt the best ive had for sound quality by miles. Excellent bass, in fact excellent treble and mid too, reacts fantastic to the dolby of the TV when watching DVD's as well as digital.
Given them an 'excellent' rating despite the relevant reviews ive answered,as you can only review as they suit you, and these do. Most review these as an 'entry level' in the sennheiser cordless range, so in future would be tempted to see how good the dearer models are, but will be hard pushed to have my arm twisted at the moment, because I cant see me changing them unless they break - shop around, there are some good prices to be had! Thats all folks!

If this model produces such incredibly clear sound, I wonder what the more expensive models in Sennheiser's range would sound like. Excellent quality headphones with a great range.

I bought this item because it was £20.00 cheaper than the high street. However my item did not come and i had to pay the high street price of £59.99 as well as being down the original £29.99 but as usual ebay cant/wont do anything so i opened a paypal dispute who got my money back for me after 2 weeks, another great ebay experience!

  Sennheiser RS 110
Review created: 09/12/08

Having previously used a base model Philips wireless set of headphones, i decided to try a brand with more music credential. I also own a set of cx300 and cx300 mkII earphones, as well as the px100's, all Sennheiser products so i've stuck with a tried and tested brand.

Initially, they look alot better quality than my previous Philips. Just as easy to set up. Then i encountered the first "problem". The batteries supplied were the basic alkaline non rechargable ones so i just assumed i needed to purchase rechargable ones and it would recharge from the transmitter. No. This is a non rechargable headset, so either you need to keep buying new batteries or get a pair of rechargable AAA's and seperate charger. A little disappointing but no big hassle.

The transmitter has 3 selectable channels via a small switch. The headphones though, they need to be "manually tuned" just like you would on an old analogue radio. Finding the "station" is easy enough but it would of made more sense just to have 3 selectable channels just like one the transmitter. I've even managed to tune into another channel, some kind of news channel. Not much use really.

Sound quality is best described as above average but by no means superb. The clarity is good but i feel that it lacks slightly in the bass department.

Overall a good quality entry model for people just wanting wireless freedom.

  Convenient headphone solution
Review created: 02/04/08

The RS 110s, like all cordless headphones, offer a uniquely flexible listening solution. I would not necessarily describe these cans as being the height of Hi-fidelity but as an answer to more than adequate listening on the move, they do a very competant job. The transmission range seems excellent, throughout my house and garden at least, and lying in bed, bath or mowing the lawn are experiences enhanced by the RS 110s. They also have the benefit of acting as ear-defenders against the pervasive frequencies created by newly born infants - whilst still allowing you to get the message.

In summary: If you want Hi-Fi perfection don't buy, in my opinion, any cordless cans. If you are prepared to sacrifice purity for convenience these do the job well and cost bugger-all. I am most happy with my purchase as convenience was my driver.

Excellent entry-level headphones - it takes its time to get used to the feeling of earpieces. Sound quality is really good.

Bought these for my Mum so that she could listen to the television or the stereo without disturbing anyone else in the house and also so that she can listen at her preferred volume while my stepfather (who is losing his hearing) turns the T.V. up louder all the time!
She says they are great- very comfortable and so far the batteries are lasting fine! Then again they are Sennheiser!
