A delightfully funny film

This film was very undersold at the box office, but the cast list (Michael Caine and Robert Duvall) should give a hint at the quality of this presentation. Caine and Duvall play two grumpy old brothers who have 'retired' to a broken - down old farm in the mid-west. they suddenly (and unwillingly)have their young nephew left with them by his mother, who disappears off, allegedly to college. The old men tell the boy unbeleivable tales of their past, while firing their scatter guns at any passing salesman and bar brawling with the local hooligans. Then they buy a old tame lion from a circus, so they can have their own lion hunt, but the boy adopts it. The comedy is not raw and uprorious, but you are constantly smiling at the antics of the two ageing delinquents, and the little twist at the end makes this an immensely enjoyable family film not to be missed.
