Bought this because i had it on cassette years ago but it vanished when we moved house :@(
If you like bands such as The Stone Roses or Charlatans then this will be right up your street.
Brilliant album, cracking band. Best played at full volume while gearing yourself up for a night on the tiles, have been caught singing into the mirror on more than one occasion!

What an amazing band and album. I love every song on the album and John Squires guitar playing is amazing. The songwriting is quality. One of the best albums of the 90's and should be in everyones collection particularly if you like, the stone roses, cast, oasis, charltons, primal scream, Paul Weller and the verve. I've bought it many times as it's been lost, stolen and played out over the years lol.

what a crackin album, John Squire formaly of the stone roses on guitar has the late nineties indie britpop sound down to a fine art. this is refreshing for the fact that the lyrics dont just bang on about life on the streets of british council estatesZZZZZZZZZZZZ. very catchy and anthemic songs. dont take my word for it buy it im sure you wont be dissapointed.

  Up for it!
Review created: 03/09/08

Great example of music from the Madchester scene of the early 90's, while mellow enough to be easy listening. Shame the Seahorses never carried on to bigger and better things.

I Bought this on the strength im a stone roses fan!( john Squire was lead guitarist with the roses, and this is his new band) its full of the typical squiresque guitar licks, with a sound cross between the stone roses - the second coming and another manc band Oasis! If you liked the roses, this is well worth a listen! its a couple years old now, but if its good who cares!!! Rich

Why do only seem to buy old cds now. Here is a fine example of British guitar driven indie music. Compare this album to the grey mediocrity of the current crop of bands.

I bought this for my other half as he was a fan when they came out and only had this album on tape. The copy I bought was hand signed by two band members which made him even happier. According to him the album is class, an excellent buy!

If you like the Stone Roses, Airhead and Kula Shaker and all the others from this period of music then you will like this too. I'm playing catch up and am really glad that I bought this album.

Bought on the strength of Squire's performances with the Roses and must say that I am impressed. While there are a couple of weak tunes it's mostly excellent, they don't make 'em like this anymore!

i bought it a few years ago when it was first released on cassette, but it was in my friends car which was stolen! Then i had it on cd and that was lost when i moved house! The cd brings back alot of happy memories and it is one of my favourites. It was a very reasonable price on ebay so i treated myself (as most things i purchase are for friends and family!)

  Seahorses CD
Review created: 03/07/06

Probably one of the classic albums of its time, John Squire (Formerly Stone Roses) wrote and performed under his new venture , The seahorses, and this classic was their first album release, there are not many albums ever, that can say that the full track listing are all classic songs, this one undoubtedly is.

  Hates Roses?
Review created: 04/05/06

John Squire's second band formed after the demise of the stone roses. This is thier debut offering full of indie pop tunes. This album contains the single love is the law, which is the track that announced the seahorses to the mainstream and is the standout track here. Well worth a listen, if found for the right price.
