Album Notes Shy of a full-blown box set, this two-disc anthology of Scott Walker's 1960s/'70s work, on his own and with the Walker Brothers, is as comprehensive as one could wish. While the outre avant-garde work of Walker's later years would require (and surely warrants) its own collection, CLASSICS & COLLECTIBLES admirably documents his journey from mid-'60s pop idol to moody late-'60s Brel disciple/songpoet and mid-'70s Adult Contemporary crooner. Through all the stylistic shifts, that cavernous, magnificently expressive voice seems as if it can do no wrong.
