Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters (CD 2004)

I Personal found scissor sisters to be an be a group that you don`t like when you first hear them. But after a while of hearing them you sort of end up singing away to the tracks even though you thought you didn't like them, Then all of a suddon you find yourself in the music store (or on ebay_) buying their album!
I know i did lol and now they are one of my favourite bands!

Wonderful CD, GR8 tracks. Really love this band and had not bought the album so was really pleased to find it on eBay and at such a good price...
All the tracks are ace, and even if you have not heard them you will love them. really catchy numbers as you would expect from the scissor sisters.

i went to see the scissor sisters on sun 12th nov i cant fault them they were absolutely brilliant fantastic. N ow im a big fan & want both there albums wich ive now got if any ones thinking of going to see them .....Dont think about it just do it .you wont be dissapointed!!!............scissor sisters ur fantastic!!!!!

think scissor sisters have a unique quality to there music ,there wasnt a track on the album that dissapointed me ,cant wait to buy the next album ,some adult only lyrics in few songs ,but expected from artist ,so caution when playing in front of young kids . glad brought

An amazing debut album from the scissor sisters - I love it! It's not like most albums where only the singles are worth listening to - all of it is great! This is a must have for your collection!

WOW!!! A LEGEND IN THE MAKING. THIS ALBUM HAS TO BE IN YOUR CD COLLECTION. THE SCISSOR SISTERS COVER ALMOST EVERY MUSIC GENRE IN THIS CATCHY, QUIRKY BUT DAMN RIGHT GENIUS ALBUM. HAUNTING TRACKS SUCH AS MARY ARE GREAT TO CHILL OUT TO AND T*TS ON THE DANCE FLOOR IS DEFINITELY ONE TO GET YOU IN TO THAT PARTY MOOD. THE PHRASE "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER" WAS CREATED FOR THIS BAND, THEY MAY LOOK LIKE YOUR HIGH CLASS PARENTS WORST NIGHTMARE BUT THEY HAVE THE MUSICAL TALENTS TO RIVAL (DARE I SAY IT) LENON AND MCARTNEY!!! HEY, THEY COULD BE BIGGER THAN JESUS!

This album reminds me of pouring a glass of cola, starts of lively, full of bubbles, then as it progresses with loads of enthusiasm it over exceeds the glass & spills out everywhere. Don't contain it! Pop It on the car CD player and allow it its rightful unconfined space on the open road.

This album is a truly excelletn collection of all Scissor Sister's hits, with the added bonus of some great unreleased tracks!! Unlike some albums that are out now, you can actually stick the album on - sing along to the first few tracks that were released, and then enjoy the rest of the album finishing with the brilliant 'Return to Oz' (And what a great track they chose to finish the album!!!). Trust me - the next time you listen to it you'll be singing along to all the choruses!! :o)

This is one of those albums which everyone should own - like the White Album, like Morning Glory, like Queen's Greatest Hits ;-)... this CD can be played and played and played.

In fact, it was played and played and played in our office, and unlike Simon and Garfunkel, who got on my nerves after about the 10th sitting, we managed almost a whole summer of this album on constant loop. OK, so you end up singing in the shower in a stupid falsetto, OK, so if you actually listened to the lyrics you wouldn't want to be singing them as you walk along the street... and OK, "Anna Matronic" is a terrible, terrible joke-in-a-name... but this album is a modern classic - I haven't yet met anyone who doesn't like it after having heard it. Maybe you'll hate it, but it's pretty much a dead cert.

I had enjoyed listening to the Scissor Sisters on the radio but had not heard much else. So when I decided to purchase this CD I didn't really know what to expect and was prepared not to like it. It is so often the way that, when you buy a full CD after hearing a single track, you don't always get what you expect. So, I was especially pleased to find that I enjoyed this CD very much. The group uses such a wide variety of styles and are so individual in their work that the whole CD was one delight after another. I have to say that, as I listened, I couldn't help but think of other artists - George Michael and Elton John to name a couple. But Scissor Sisters have their own distinctive take on all the tracks so it isn't just a copy. (The only track that doesn't work for me is Comfortably Numb - no-one does it like Pink Floyd!!)

This is a really Fantastic Album - in my opinion better than Ta Dah - one of the very best albums in my collection!!! at a brillaiant price.

What Scissor Sisters have produced here is the most original album I've heard in years - it's catchy, raunchy, funny and sounds great.
Very popular with the Gay a Lesbian comunity but if you're straight don't let that put you off as this is a great dance album.

Much better than the second album, def worth for the collection of any fan. Only writing more as this review insists on 100 characters, which is so annoying

So good to drive to (no driving fast 'cos the beat quickens!!). It's just good 'feel good' music - but with the added benefit of people staring at you at traffic lights due to you 'singing'. Bear in mind - I'm a 59 year old grey haired 'chick' who loves to listen to (First) My Daughter/Son-in-law in Australia, (2nd) My son & his lady, (3rd) MILBURN, (4th) THE STREETS then whatever station I tune into (ever listened to Jeremy Vine at 1pm weekdays? - rather interesting). Anyway - a good CD. TTFN - Reet

I absolutely love the band and wanted this CD for so long - saw it on E-Bay and was a bargain - finances are that good here at home since I became a full time mum - so it was a great opportunity for me to treat myself and grab a bargain at the same time

Can't fault this album.
The cover of comfortably numb is worth it alone. I'm a 70s guy and the music of the Scissor Sisters has a 70's early 80's feel to it.

I really love the Scissor Sisters and this CD does not dissapoint,its fresh, funky with the unique sound that is only the Scissor Sisters.

A great cd whilst being their debu album! Jake shears and Ana matronic are vocals Babydaddy Shears is bass or guitar and paddy boom as drums when Del marquis is guitar or bass! May include swearing in lyrics and songs. Best cd from america!

This album is track after track of hits. The fun and funky 'Take Your Mama', 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Filthy/Gorgeous' will have you singing and dancing along, while the gentle 'Mary' is incredibly moving and beautiful. I find the closing couple of tracks less memorable and interesting, but the good far, far outweighs the bad!

This is a cd I come back to over and over again, it lifts the spirits with its infectious sense of fun and naughty-but-niceness. Play it at parties, in the car...or even while you're doing the ironing. It's the ultimate feel-good fix!

Absolutely excellent album very unique and different love love love it : )
Top of my album list every song is unique and love all the songs which I find rare for an album as there is usually a couple that I dont like on other albums.
