Saw (DVD 2005)

What an awesome film if you like suspense, thriller and gore this is it. there were many OMG parts that make you squirm. Excellent story line and an all round great film if you like gore.
SAW 2 and SAW 3 are also fantastic films and follow on from each other. with SAW 3 explaining the other two.

brilliant film very cleverly done has you in suspense all the time and has you wondering what the hell is going on a real good scary suspense film the best i have seen in years.

This film was excellent, and of the modern horror era it is able to thrill and shock you easily This film is not about the blood and guts, its about suspence and shock.Alot of modern horror films are simply about as much gore as you can take, there is no plot or reasoning for the film, but with saw it has a meaning.It has the ability to work very well, i would recommend this film to anyone who is a horror fan,or film buff like i am.I always say you cannot beat the orginal of a horror film,and in most cases i find this to be true, but saw is a very good modern horror film that will keep you on the edge from start to finnish.I have yet to see the proceeding saw films, but im sure if the first is anything to go by it will keep my attention from start to finnish.

Best horror i've seen, great story line and acting. A must see for something totally different. Cant wait to see Saw 2.

The gore was over rated, an absolutely fantastic film. The effects were very well done a must see if you like horror.

the dvd was great to watch everything about it was so good it was a gem best ive seen so far as im into horrors it was outstanding value for money and i cant wait to watch saw 4 when its realeased

I love these film it is excellent.I rented it out once and then i had to go and get it.It is brillant film.

I am a big fan of the horror genre and the murder/mystery genre. This movie is a good combination of both genres. A lot of people are saying that it is a seven wannabe and so on. While watching this movie I did not think of Seven. To me this movie stood out on it's own. I thought the cinematography was really cool in this movie. The suspense was gripping and jaw dropping in some scenes. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that the acting was somewhat cheezy and bad but come on now. Most acting in horror movies is cheezy and over the top. I don't think that acting in this movie was as bad as acting you would find in a B horror movie. This movie was unapologetic and in your face. It seemed like while you were watching it, it didn't care if you thought it was over the top and didn't want to monitor itself. That's what I loved about it. The ending surprised me. Interesting movie throughout and is worth the ticket price. If you liked this movie rent or buy Cube. If you liked Cube go see this movie. If you have a weak stomach and you are not into serial killer movies this isn't the movie for you.

Be prepared to be scared. James Wan's directorial debut, written by and starring Leigh Whannell, is a violent, bloody, psychologically exhausting and exhilarating exercise in terror. Adam and Dr. Gordon are chained in a vile, disgusting bathroom, separated by a bloody corpse holding a gun and a tape recorder. They are each given a saw--the only obvious way out is to cut one of their feet off. A serial killer who specialises in torturing morally bereft strangers is playing a game with them: Gordon has less than eight hours to kill Adam or else the doctor's wife and daughter will be murdered. As the two men engage in a battle of wits, alternately trying to help each other or secretly attempting to win the game, a series of flashbacks reveals the history of the madman and the pair of detectives are handling the case. Some of the torture scenes are excruciatingly horrible and hard to watch, a real treat for fans of the genre. Inspired by the work of David Lynch and Dario Argento Wan has created a scintillating suspense thriller that will have audiences continually shocked, repelled, frightened, and surprised, right up to the very last second (which Whannell has said was influenced by the endings of different films. The accompanying heavy metal soundtrack is appropriately scary as well.

One of the most original and scary horror movies I have seen in ages!

It was totally not what I was expecting. Based on the cover, and on what little I knew, I thought it would include a killer who would torture his victims, cutting off limbs and stuff. For the record: I was totally wrong.

From the start of the movie onwards, you are constantly wondering what is going. As you figure things out, bit by bit, at the same time as the two main characters do, things become more and more grim. I love the psychology element of this movie - and I can see why people compare it to Se7en. It has the same sort of cat-and-mouse game between the killer and Brad Pitt's character.

Another thing that surprised me, is that it's nowhere near as gory as I thought it would be. It has a few gory flashes, but the majority of it is left up to your imagination. Which, sometimes, can be even worse, because what I dream up in my head, what they don't show, is probably as bad as anything. :P But yes, again for the record, you don't see as much gore in this as you'd expect. They cut away a lot of times just when it's starting to get really gory.

Don't let the DVD cover fool you, this is as much a psychological thriller as it is a horror movie. It is grim and gritty like Se7en, and there is a lot more to it than hack-n-slash gore.

I don't want to say too much more about it, because I don't want to give away any of the surprises in the movie, but trust me, it is good. Awesome!

Fantastic storyline - suspensful plot - THE BEST ENDING TWIST I HAVE SEEN TO DATE. Really is a 'must see' :)

Loads of twists and turns and you will NEVER guess the ending. In fact when I saw ending I was Like WOW, That really is amazing, no other film has has caught me like that.
loads of gore for those that love gore and a twisted thriller story too, Buy it, watch it, Love it!

A great little concept - two dudes wake up in a room, both chained to either side of the room, no clue as to how they got there, and a body in the middle of the floor.

But that's where the greatness ends, and where the cack film begins. Yeh it keeps you guessin, and yeh i never sussed the ending.... but there's a reason for that... in my humble humble opinion, there was NO way you could've guessed the outcome?! It was like the laughable 'ooh it's her' ending of Scream 2... Real potential, but a bit of a timewaste... I knew seeing so many good movies the last couple of months was bound to pay off with a ton of cack.

Oh, and Danny Glover turns in a career worst with an unfeasably silly subsonic deep voice.

Goretastic not for the faint hearted, blood and gore throughout great start to a fantastic set of films

I wanted to show my boyfriend what a real horror film is like, and he's suitably terrified!

It has taken some (scarily) imaginative minds to create this film.

Its the new wave in cinema horror which has a began a chain in sucessful horror movies, the anticipation of what will happen next is invigorating for any viewer and will have all who watched glued until the end unless their stomach gives way from the gore factor. The plot is very unique and has plenty of twists in their which comfortably give room for the sequels to fill in the gaps! Perfect present for my brother for Xmas, who is not easily impressed by the average horror movie. The cost of product was definately value for money!

I purchased this film for my daughter. As it is new and sealed i shall give it to her for a christmas presant, The dvd was delivered very quickly in safe packaging. very happy with the buy

quite good as it has some good twists and good graphics but not A* as it could have been much better. i think that the other saw films are better, You descide?

Good fun!!! Really different story line well executed if a little over acted. Not exactly family entertainment but no sex or nudity makes a change and loads of gore helps to keep the interest with a good twist at the end

It is a good dvd to have in your personal collection.Great price comparing to the one in the shops.Always see the feedback of the seller before buying.
