Surprisingly better than Saw III, the fourth installment in the franchise delivers the suspense in a very tricky manner. While I can't divulge just why the movie ups the ante, just suffice to say that, with Jigsaw dead, this movie takes place begining in the moments before the awful scene at the end of number 3 (and other info deleted to appease other Amazon crybabies).

You are also given a deeper back-story for Jigsaw, (Tobin Bell, again deliciously malevolent) and the lady that appeared in his flashbacks. Other characthers reappear as pawns in a dangerous game, as the dearly departed seems to have left posthumous recruitment tapes for SWAT Commander Rigg. Along with the typical ominous warnings, Rigg is led through the well-known series of SAW traps as Jigsaw tests his mettle. At the end of this test are two other fellow officers, including a returning Donnie Wahlberg, restrained to another nefarious device. As you can guess, not everything goes according to plan. The final twist is a doozy, and for a change, hard to see coming

5/5 for this one from me

SAW IV!!!

Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grisly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.

Another Saw film is born with more twists, turns and even more gore!!!

A must see for any Saw fan who has watched all of the previous films!!!

Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman

Featured actors: Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Scott Patterson, Betsy Russell and Donnie Wahlberg.

If you like these films, then you must watch Dead Silence by the creators of Saw!!!

SAW V is expected in cinemas Haloween 2009!!!

Of course I had to see this after seeing the other 3 now it was what you'd come to expect from Saw the usual goryness but i thought that it wasn't as good as the third one, however the storyline was good and i'd say its certainly worth watching, I still give it a thumbs up!

Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) may be dead but the game isn't over in Saw IV, a slick sequel that gets the floundering series back on track. After a tape recorded message is found in Jig's stomach, Detective Hoffman (Carlos Mandylor) and SWAT Commander Riggs (Lyriq Bent) are thrown into yet another fiendishly complex morality play. With restless flashbacks fleshing out the late Jigsaw's origins and a collection of infernal torture implements shredding the flesh of the living, it's a cut above the rest of Saw's sequels.

Killing off its serial killer villain, Saw III left the franchise with a major headache; how to make a Saw movie without Jigsaw? The answer: don't. Instead, flashbacks show us the making of Bell's monster, a lost family, cancer and car wreck turning him into Jigsaw, the twenty-first century's first bona fide horror icon. Bell plays him as pallid and chillingly still as always; meanwhile, the rest of the cast wade through blood and severed limbs as the sadist's inventively nasty machines do all the hard work. One poor gal is scalped, a rapist is quartered and a survivor from Saw III spends ninety minutes dancing on a melting block of ice; if he falls off, the noose around his neck will ensure he doesn't make it to Saw V.

"A TRULY MISERABLE WORLD"

With two sequels already on his resume, helmer Darren Lynn Housman nails the series' dank, yellowing aesthetic once again. He sticks us in a truly miserable world so lacking in human kindness it could be set in '80s, pre-Giuliani, New York. It's deeply unsettling; just like a horror movie should be. True, the labyrinthine plot makes little sense (is making it impossible to follow a deliberate ploy to ensure DVD sales?) - but then Saw's always been about sensation: an assault on the the stomach, not the brain.

I love saw im 21 yrs old and i love the blood and gore my partner loves it 2 after the 1,2 and 3rd we coulnt wait to watch the 4th but unlike the others where there was really only 1 qyestion at the end no. 4 had to many questions and its frustrating waiting for no.5.
I really didnt get the ending how did the fbi agent get locked in when jigsaw was in the room but at the start of the film he was on the table getting cut up so how did jigsaw get from there back into the same place he died in saw 3???
If i have got this completely wrong someone please put me right.

This film was in my opinion the best one in the Saw series as of yet. The flashbacks of Jigsaw in his days before he turned to killing were so well done and once again the film has a brilliant twist at the end. Cannot wait for Saw 5!!

Saw, these guys who made the story have done a great job. They have taken all by sirprise, what started as a joke to them has made them millions. Remember the 1st saw where the guy had a change on his head that will close when the timeers out.
yeh i will pull that wire stuckt o my head or I would put my head on the floor and let the trap hit the floor or but the metal chair i was sat on onto of my head, tis was silly. Thses new ones stop the laughter, keep the bucket next to you. ENJOY!!!!!!! Your going to die if u watch this film btw........my heart its stopped yahup ahhh blaaaaaaaaa:P:P:P

I decided to watch this film as i have seen all the others and enjoyed them. I wasnt disapointed with this latest one. There is more blood and gore than ever and also good story too. Not recomended for the faint-hearted though. I watched this on my own and did make me jump! Nice 1 .

A worthy follow on from the last three films but with more twists and less gore. The nastiest scene involves an autopsy. The films now have more story and less visual stimulation. If you like the last three you'll like this one,but it has lost some of it's shock value.
