SanDisk Cruzer® Micro (4 GB) USB 2.0 Flash Drive REVIEW

This is a review for a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4gb USB Flash Drive. (REVIEW IS BASED ON TESTING IT WITH A VISTA COMPUTER)
I bought this memory stick off eBay for £11 including P+P. When I got the memory stick, it looked very small and nice. The length of the memory stick is small and it is also generally slim. However, the colour black wasn't really appealing and a different colour would have looked better.
The best feature about this stick, was that the usb connector could be retracted so it was hidden away inside the memory stick. This benefits me as I no longer need to worry about having a cap on and it will also keep the usb connector safe.
There are no softwares that comes with this memory stick. It simply is Plug and Play. I inserted the memory stick into a Vista Computer, and it installed it for me automatically. I was up and running in a matter of a few seconds.
Now, this device is compatible with Vista. You can save and copy files to the stick using Vista with no problems. However, I wasnted to also use the U3 function that comes with this. When I tried to install that at first, it said that it wasn't compatibles with Vista. It gave me a link where I could download the appropriate driver. However, when I tried to download it, it said that I didnt have appropriate admistrators rights. I did a bit of research on the internet and found out that the U3 drivers that comes with the USB, is 1.2
However, if you want it to work with vista, you need drivers that are 1.4 or above. I decided to go to the SanDisk website where I found the 1.6 drivers. However, on the page it said that these drivers are not yet compatible with Vista. But, I downloaded and installed and then the U3 drivers were working perfectly. I could now download programs onto my USB and use them on any computer.
One bad thing about this USB, is that the speed for copying files to the USB is quite slow. However, for copying files from the USB to the computer is at a reasonable speed. Deleting files on the memory stick are also quite quick.
Another feature with this USB, is that it can be use the ReadyBoost feature on Vista. This means that you can use the memory stick to increase the RAM on your computer so that your programs run quicker.
All in all, I would recommend this memory stick to anyone who needs a basic USB with a few extra features that other memory stick do not have. However, if you want a memory stick where copying files is a lot quicker, I recommend you get a differet memory stick.
