Samsung SGH-U600 Mobile Phone

Having spent a while trying to find a decent upgrade to the Sony Ericsson W800 I thought that this phone seemed the only choice! I am not disappointed.
Yes, the touch sensitive keys take some getting used,
The phone is not as logically laid out and easy to use as my last one, or as Nokia phones. However if you use your phone a lot, as I do, you get used to the way it works pretty quickly and it really isn't a problem.
I've heard the battery isn't too good but mine's still on 2 bars after 2 days and lots of calls and texts, although I haven't been using the music player yet.
The slider is perfectly sturdy, the camera is as good as you would want for a camera phone and the looks of this phone are great.

Overall I would highly recommend the U600 to anyone wanting a good all round phone that looks the part!

Initially bought the U600 for my wife but was impressed so much that I have since bought my son one and also the mother in law and finally a spare one for myself.
Its light weight easy to use and more importantly has a good music player!
capable of recording video and audio.Hooks easily with internet can take an external card (more music), quite a good camera and some fine games with more to download.
So for sleekness, style and untold ability buy buy the U600.

To the reviewer below, this phone does have picture caller ID.

Go to the image folder, highlight the image you want, 'options' and 'set as' caller ID, then just find the correct contact.

Advantages: Small, big clear screen and keys, easy navigation

Disadvantages: You can sometimes accidentally touch the 'touch sensitive' buttons which can be annoying!

I have had this handset for about 12 weeks now, and it is still not 'out of date'. It is smart and sleek to look at, really quite thin, and only a small overall size. Not sure how much it weighs but it isn't very much.

The screen is huge in proportion to the handset. When using it, the screen slides upwards, to reveal the keypad underneath. The keys are very large, and light up so easy to see in the dark. In addition, there are 2 extra 'touch sensitive' keys just below the screen. You can set these to be used for whatever functions you regularly use.

The menu system is pretty easy to navigate, nice and intuitive.

The phone also takes memory cards so is expandable. It comes in various colours - mine is silver, and I think you can also get covers for it.

Battery life is reasonable - I do tend to find that when it goes down to 2 bars it quickly can go down to 1 and then none. So long as you get used to the way the battery meter works, then you will be fine.

Summary: Good all rounder

I decided to buy the U600 because it was a stylish slider phone. After use for several months now i have come to realise its amazing pros and a few minor cons. Firstly the phone provides everything you need, bluetooth, radio, predictive text, video and music player. The phone is completely stylish and looks great which is another pro. However a few down sides to the phone is that it does not have picture caller ID, which was something i really wanted. Also the touch sensitive buttons can sometimes cancel messages which can be rather annoying. Overal its a great phone and any Samsung lover should buy one right away.

My husband already had one, and i liked the colour on offer so bid and won it. This phone offers alot of features and has a slim and sleek appearance, allows a good storage of messages, and big viewer screen.

The phone worked quite well for a few days; then I noticed it never charges fully anymore.
Eventually, it gives of sparks when the charger is plugged in and would not work anymore.
The seller never mentioned this problem when selling though.

great phone for great price designed like an i-phone with touch button, very easy to use but quite sensitive. Shame it didn't come with any accessories. Without software, connection lead and headphones cannot up/download any photos, music etc and no memory card.

it might not be the latest phone out there but its packed with quality features. This phone turned my teenage daughter into somebody almost human who could occasionaly smile and even once admitted that maybe I was still The Best Dad In The World !!

very impressed with the phone! has some good features as with all samsungs! it also has the option to customize sms tone with no other samsung does!!

It is sleek, easy to use. Has all the features necessary for a day to day HANDSET. IT'S JUST BEAUTIFUL!

i like that is a slimline phone and it takes good pictures and it is a good quality phone. I heard about this phone from my daughter and it is a good phone and would recommend anybody to buy one

Nice phone it does everything you need it to, 1 of the best features of the phone is the 60mb standard memory and also the 3.2 mega pixel camera.

these are great slimline mobiles,takes a while to get used to them with them being touch sensitive,but once you are used to using them you will find a big difference from other models, first time ive had this type but would not prompt for any others now,one word of advice,keep your fingers out the way of the touch area while searching other programs.

Quite a lot of marks/scratches on the phone did not have a memory card with it either, very disappointed with the phone.

i bought an item and it was damaged,i bought it for my son and did not realis this women left pornographic pictures all ove rit, i would not tust if i was buying again scam artist is all i can say

Like the slide. Like the 3.2 pixel camera. Like the picture wallpaper which the sky darkens on slowly as the day turns to night, also has birds flying past during the day and shooting stars in the nighttime picture. Like the lightness of the phone. Easy to use.

this phone was advertised aS WORKING and the problem was only with the keypad..but it happend that the phone was BLOCKED..and had alot of scratches..i never expected this at all..but i think i've learnt my lesson..i will never buy mobile from ebay again...

i was very pleased with the condition of the phone but the only problem was the sellers description they said it was unlocked but when it arrived it only took a virgin mobile sim card.
