The Samsung E900 is a stylish slider, The Phone has an almost identical feature set to the Samsung D600, which is a much thicker and heavier phone. The E900 also has a Chocolate beating 2-megapixel camera, speakerphone function and an expandable microSD slot. Other features include infrared, Bluetooth, SMS and MMS messaging, a voice recorder, polyphonic ring tones, a calendar, a to do list, a scheduler, a clock, world time, an alarm, a timer, a stopwatch, a calculator, a currency converter and Java games. Unfortunately, the E900 isn't completely perfect, The 2-megapixel camera takes a while to load and when you do take a picture there is a significant amount of shutter lag, so the pictures come out blurry if you move your hand. Also the flash doesn't work properly and makes things look blue rather than bright. Review ID: 10000000003442303 Was this review helpful? The only problem that I had was that I kept catching the soft touch 'cancel' button & had to restart the action that I was in the middle of... however this could have been due to my long fingernails. The only reason I sold this phone was because I received a free upgrade on renewing my contract. Review ID: 10000000003573165 Was this review helpful? As soon as u get use to it which doesnt take long its fine to use. I have droped the phone many of times and its been fine. The battery on full lasts me around 2days. The camera is of good quility but you have to hold it still whilst taking a photo other wise ocassionaly it smuges. The fone is easy to text. In genral the phone is really good and worth the money. To give some background, I have owned this phone for just less than a year, as it came into my possession for free as a result of a new pay monthly deal. It came with all the necessary cables, including a rather nifty software bundle and USB cable, for moving number, pictures, or whatever onto your PC/laptop. The frist thing I noticed, was its VERY elegant styling; something I would be proud to pull out of my pocket, whereas my old nokia 3510i didn't quite cut it in that aspect. Having left it to charge for the necessary timespan (as one does do with all new phones), I put in the sim, and away I went. Nothing weird about the installation, it was all very simple. As for actual handling, it was all very easy; I thought I might have a problem with the touch keys, as some other people had had problems, but to this day, I've never got frustrated with the buttons; once or twice, you will miss the key you were trying to push, or accidentally close the menu, but it is not a big deal (maybe I'm just more patient than other people ;-) ) The battery life seems reasonable for a modern day phone; my friend has had much worse a time with his blackberry as far as battery life is concerned; I probably need to charge every 2-3 days, and that's with occasional use, not constant talk-time. As far as the phones software is concerned, it was very much one of the selling points of the phone for me, because the interface is important to me from both an aesthetic and utile point of view. It is VERY easy to navigate the phone, and the address book is VERY usable (unlike motorola's, in my opinion). The screen is large and has very good definition and brightness. Also, you CAN use your own mp3's as a ring tone, which is a bonus, as some phones do not let you do that; the music player is very pleasing to the eye, and there is enough space on the phone without an extra memory stick to put on about 12 tracks. The camera on the phone is very good, as is the video capture... OVERALL, I would recommend this phone to just about anyone, though I think you may struggle with the buttons if you have large fingerpads. This phone is a great catch, and though my contract ends in one month, I am not yet persuaded that I want to change my phone, and may sell any upgrade I receive instead. N.B. I have not yet used one of the new U Series phones from Samsung, which are a thinner range, and somewhat, the successors to the E range; presumably the build quality is just as good, and I know for a fact the slider phone in the U range has a very large screen, and is slightly taller than the e900, though slimmer.
