Samsung Digimax S800 Digital Camera

this is a very good digital camera, the picture quality is superb, i know its not top of range, but for whats it worth i would reccommend it. This camera is very easy to use, the only downside is if you use cheap battries it will drain quickly, u will need to buy some on ebay (uniross 2700 & charger) extrodinary qulaity and time of battrie use.

I have had several digital cameras but find that samsung,do produce a better picture quality.The samsung digimax s800 is a super little camera for the beginner or old hand photographer.

As my excisting camera broke down over Christmas I was eager to purchase another one in time for a holiday to India. I was a bit unsure about the product when recieved as it doesn't look like a flash new gadget but it proved to provide me with exactly what I needed - a practical, durable, stable and easy to handle camera small enough to fit in any handbag or pocket. It is not too sensitive to motion, it takes brilliant pictures in day light as well as in the dark and in-doors. I strongly recommend this product.

Great camera does everthing i need it to do ,,,greedy for power but rechargeble batterys are fine as long as there 2500mah or above also get a memory card as only holds 8 photos on 8mp or 15 on 6mp ect ect but 6mp is ample

pros:

very easy to use so great camera for beginners.
ample lcd screen size for pinpoint accuracy when taking shots.
very easy to find a feature you want to use and everything is text labeled rather than symbols which no-one understands at first glance.
digital zoom works a treat. optical zoom not so well but enough for a good shot.
stylish small and when held in shooting position feels like it grew there.
8.1 megapixel!!! what more could you ask for crystal clear quality and variable megapixel for storage purposes.
recording perfect and as expected.
this cam is basically a brand new mobile phone without wap, bluetooth and the abilty to make phone calls.

cons:

on 8.1mp setting you can take a measly 4-6 pics so internal memory is way too small but easily sorted with a 2gb mem card.

GREAT LIL CAMERA. THE BUTTONS ARE TINY, SO YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT. MENU IS EASY TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS .....THE BATTERY LIFE IS VERY SHORT, SO STOCK UP ON BATTERIES.

I was looking for a good digital camera that was affordable and I thought I had found the right item on eBay, however, this turned out to be one of the worst transactions I was ever involved in.

The camera took ages to arrive by post and when it did come I found it packaged in a ball of sticky tape! I had to unravel the camera from this mummification and found the camera to be faulty. The screen would not turn on and it kept shutting down. I tried new batteries but there was no rescuing it, this camera had an internal fault which had not been mentioned in the listing.

I contacted the seller who said that they would not issue a refund because as far as they knew the camera was working, but that they would be willing to cancel the sale if the camera was returned to them. So that's what I did. Only to be told that they never received the camera.

I emailed them a few times a week to get updates and the seller proved very unresponsive, until I realised that there was no point continuing further communication with them. They had my money and the camera (even though it was broken) and I was not getting anything back.

I left feedback detailing my displeasure, hoping to warn other potential eBay users from getting fooled by this seller and falling into the same trap I did. I'll be much more careful in the future when it comes to selecting which seller to buy from, especially for expensive small electronic items.

I bought the camera because the kids broke my other one and thought i would just stick to the same camera.

For what i use it for i think its great. I only use it for meesing about with the kids taking pictures for selling stuff on ebay and holidays. So easy to use easy menus and great pictures. So easy my wife can even use it.I got mine for 48.00 pounds so i think they are good value as well.

this is a great camera but on normal batteries it dose not last long at all but if you get the docking station which is a must it last quiet a while !!!!!!!

I was bought this camera with a charger 2 years ago and used it a lot. Unfortunately, i had it stolen last February while on holiday and so needed a new camera. I know there are lots of choices now but i still went and bought the same camera....it is so easy to use, produces excellent photos and has a host of features. Even the video mode is good and can take half hour videos. The only problem is that if you zoom whilst taking a video, the sound goes off! My gf is a bit of a camers nerd and she rates this camera one of the best on the market, even though there are more complex versions around.
Buy one....you wont be disappointed.

Great pics, not bad zoom, very clear and durable. Zoom lens only just decided to go faulty and had the camera for nearly 2 1/2 years.

This camera was purchased to replace a similar one stolen but is slightly more "up market"
I find it neat, compact, easy to use and produces excellent pictures with clear detail and definition.
Through E-Bay I was able to buy new at a very reasonable price.
There is little to say against it as it covers all the criteria it sets out to fulfill except that the instruction booklet could cover more aspects especially the printing of pictures.
The booklet recommends the Samsung website for help line. However all the website gives is the TV advert for new cameras.

Cracking camera, simple to use, easy to understand instructions and the photo's i have taken up to now have giveen excellent results,

This camera is ace, easy to use and set up, I have brought more expensive camera's in the past that have not been as easy to set up. I am about to buy a memory card so I can store more images.

Brilliant little camera. Takes good photos with the 8meg. Has many functions and extras. Excellent camera if you win it at a good price.. I paid 40 pounds for mine and I'm proud to own it.
