Samsung DVD-SR275M/XEU DVD Recorder

i recently had a philips dvd recorder which i had for at least 5years, so thought it was about time i upgraded, i recently purchased a 37' lcd HD tv so was looking at dvd recorders which upscaled and had had the HDMI connection.
when this arrived i unpacked it and saw that it was a beautifull recorder very stylish with the black shiny look, i plugged it into my tv it installed very easily all the freeview channels were found immediately, its so simple to set up, ive recorded on the extended play settings and the 8hr mode is very good, obviously not as good as high quality mode but its very watchable with only minor pixelation, do a recording on high quality and the quality shines through the HDMI connection, great clarity and colours almost as if your watching a live tv broadcast. i put in Hancock dvd to check the upscaling qualities of the machine and was very impressed, this has made me stop buying several expensive blu ray disc for my ps3 and ive got them on dvd instead its very impressive and have had several comments from friends and family when watching dvds on this recorder. the sound quality is component output just plug into your 5.1 amp and enjoy the great quality of 5.1 surrond with extensive options on the menus to change sound settings, surround source and video settings this is a great looking, high quality recorder and upscaler. highly recommended!

The only thing against it is it has no hard drive but that said I got it for a good price and you can save programmes for ever on dvd. It is slim and stylish and easy to install.

Absolutely brilliant product - bought it to record some childrens DVD's for our son - Within minutes of plugging the item in I was able to successfully record and edit the programmes.

Thought it would be usefull back up along with my sky + as we have a busy house and sometimes programmes clash.Very complicated recording method from tv guide. often doesn't record leaving wee sad faces.
