  DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE
Review created: 07/01/09
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

This machine is prone to breaking I bought mine in good faith on here and it has a 'loader malfunction' which basically means it says open when it's closed and closed when it's open, the unit won't function and the remote won't work. You can't update the firmware as that involves pressing the enter key on the remote which you can't do. Without an original receipt Samsung won't touch it and have given me details of an authorised repair centre who charge £65 to repair it plus VAT plus parts so it's not worth it. Read the official forums by searching google and you'll get the message STAY AWAY AND BUY A SONY

  Samsung makes decent gear

I'm happy with this player. Maybe there are better spec ones, but for the money it's pretty great. It integrates excellently, as one should expect, with other Samsung equipment - e.g. my Samsung LCD TV monitor.

Very good reasonably priced bluray player
Review created: 12/06/09

A bluray player from a big name brand for under £150! It supports profile 2.0 bluray which is the BD Live, this is done by firmware update, and plays all your previous DVD movies as well. To top that the design is sleek, slimline and not too bulky so fits into most homes. The player doesnt lock up or freeze at the slightest problem and offers reasonably quick load times. It has optical digital output for 5.1 surround sound, HDMI for the best picture quality, USB for playing files on USB devices or as expansion for BD Live and any other connection you could probably want.
Reason for not being 5 star, hasnt got the built in memory for the BD Live and loading times although good are quicker on other machines.
Overall great buy!

I don't understand the complaints about this device that i had heard prior to purchasing it. The biggest complaint was due to loading speeds being around 2 minutes. I plugged the device in and put a blu ray version of Troy into the device and it was loaded and playing the movie in about 15 seconds. I don't find this a long wait at all. Some other blu rays i tested come in around the same time.

Its a solid device, great picture, good build quality and for a great price. Avoid the £500 Sony devices, just get one of these.

  Samsung BD-P1500 Blku-Ray Disc Player

The sleek black front is asthetically pleasing to the eye and the Blu-Ray picture certainly shows off the HD picture quality. After considering what was available and the varied prices I felt that the Samsung was the best value for money. Thankfully the newer machines can automatically update their firmware over the internet. It sure beats manually updating them with a CD. Blu-Ray is bringing a true cinema experience to the home with the vastly improved picture quality and 7.1 sound. The nice HDMI cable replaces the big chunky SCART lead and as the TV sizes increase Blu-Ray is more than able to keep up. As the format becomes more popular Blu-Ray discs are getting cheaper and there are some good offers available.

  Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player
Review created: 15/04/09

Out of the box, this is a lovely machine to look at, but be aware, that ultra shiny black finish is a veritable magnet for dust and fingerprints. As for the performance, BluRay pictures are vivid in colour and outstanding in detail, until you look closely at shadow detail; it's almost non-existant. Having said that, it's still a million times better than standard DVD, and maybe a bit more tweaking will improve matters. In our living room this will serve it's purpose perefctly; there's always people moving about, but in a dedicated quiet room you'll have cause to grumble. The transport is rather noisy.
Verdict; put all tha above comments into context. Where else can you get such an attractive machine with very good, if not the best, performance at the price?
Would I buy another? If the price is right, certainly!

  Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player

I bought a Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray Player for what I thought was a very good price, the box had not been opened when received delivery so what I was getting was what had been advertised a brand new Blu-Ray player. The seller was fantastic with regards to communication I had never bought a big item like that through, the seller even sent a copy of her receipt for the Blu-Ray player.I had never bought any electrical goods through Ebay but I most certaily would do again.

I did think twice about buying such an expensive item off ebay, but decided to just go for it as there are services available to help if things dont go to plan,

Well i shouldnt have worried, This item arrived well packed ensuring the blu ray player arrived in perfect condition just as the seller described,

It arrived on time, as this was Christmas present too i was over the moon with the product,

Once used we could tell it was of high quality and the HD quality on our televison when playing dvd's was improved greatly,

The only negative thing i have to say was that it didnt mention on the ebay ad that i would have needed an extra lead for the player to use this product, But i bought one which was inexpensive and worked a treat,

All in all i am very pleased with the product.
