An excellent albumn, but sandwiched between two slightly more consistent ('Rufus Wainwright'and 'want') Wainwrights second albumn marries excellent care free and liberating lyrics with catchy, 'lump in your throat' melodies. I must admit theres a few I dont like as much as the life changing 'poses' and 'cigarettes and chocolate milk' but a bad Rufus Wainwright is still better than most other things.

I dont like his voice particularly, but love the McGarrigle sisters (mum)and appreciate his father Louden. He was brilliant on the Leonard Cohen tribute concert. I have only listened to this a couple of times. The music is excellent. He takes his influences from a wider range than most. Listen to it it will stretch you. He is weird, but a genius.

) Last year I was a newcomer to Rufus Wainwright's music. I'm now an avid fan and can't praise his output enough. This album is no exception. Rufus Wainwright is a songwriting genius.
