Who would have thought watching a family sitting around watching television would be so much fun.
All the actors play their part brilliantly but Ricky Tomlinson steals the show as Jim.
Well written and full of Northern witt and humour just watching it reminds you so much of your'e own family.
Quality viewing that will stand the test of time and well worth watching time and again.
If you can't afford the full series on dvd,this best of will do for starters.

Very good series that I never watched the first time. Funny, common laugh out loud stuff that we are all guilty of sometimes only never admit it. Jim Royle is hysterical and all characters compliment each other. if you have never seen it then it is a must have. Go on give it a try. I guarantee you will be trawling e-bay for every episode including specials. I did and bought a Jim Royle puppet and a game!!!!!!!!!

this is all the best series from the royal family, its a great buy and will make you laugh over and over again , fantastic comedy!

Six of some the best episodes and Christmas specials. The Royles were simply the best family on tv. They're heavy smokers, lazy any excuse for a drink, but they are incredibly loyal to each other...
They are very true to life (which you may or may like like).

I bought this DVD because I really enjoy this programme & the seller had it at a reasonable price including p&p.

Who would have thought watching a rather thick and less than interesting family could be so funny? The set mainly stays in the front room with a few scenes in the classic old kitchen and a couple in the upstair bedrooms. Although this would seem very limited to someone unfamilar with the show, some of the funniest scripts and conversations I have ever heard occur within these rooms. Ricky Tomlingson steals the show with his bad habits, sarcy comments, and terrible jokes and laugh; followed closely by his unappreciated wife and sometimes spoilt daughter. With the youngest son Anthony constantely being bossed around and able to do nothing right, it makes you look at your own family in a very different light. The humour is very dry, but ingenius. A great British sitcom. 5star rating

great comedy series, very funny, would recommend anyone to buy the funny comedy series on dvd.I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included.

I never saw this dvd when it was televised. It was a fantastic buy, the royale family are the best at portraying british fanillies....we all should be proud to be british. I bought it and it is sad in places very emotional but it is one of those dvd's that you can watch over and over again and never bore of it. just like all the royale family in my opinion

If your into comedy and like to sit there in fits of laughter then this is the one for you.
If you have never seen a single episode of The Royle Family, then you don't know what your missing.
There are good times and bad times in this household and none of them are to be missed.

Fantastic dvd, my daughters love it and we laugh till our ribs ache, We highly recommend the royal family.

I bought this in good faith as an original in new packagaing apparently only watched once. It was for a xmas present. My son watched it on boxing day and it is in fact a copy not original at all. The colour and the sound goes off in the middle of the film. All in all this has put me off buying dvds altogether on ebay. As I had already left feedback when the item was received, (because it was bought at the start of November) there is nothing I could do. Beware.

Great dvd, really funny, especially like the wallpaper stripping preparing for the christening episode!

loved the royle family from the tv and throught my partner would like it to.... we have watch it loads and laught loads . so funny down to earth family see my own family in it to lol . great buy

This is brilliant. For those of you that haven't seen it, I recommend you get ROYLE FAMILY SERIES 1 on DVD.

You can watch this anytime, day or night and still enjoy it. It's comedy at it's best.
