Reviews Review created: 08/06/08 by: Film was enjoyable with some terrible "rock" wigs!!! Good human story about the frailties and strengths of the human character. Easy and enjoyable to watch - no frills entertainment and you didn't have to be einstein to follow the plot Review ID: 10000000007492341 Was this review helpful? Report this review I didn't know what to expect with this film, I thought it was going to be a spoof, maybe a modern day 'Spinal Tap' or an out and out cheese-fest that was way to hard to believe. But I was suprised, Jennifer Aniston and Mark Wahlberg put in good performances and, yes, that word again, believable performances. It's the story of a wannabe (80's) rockstar who actually got to be when he replace his idol to front his favourite rock band; whose songs he covers in his own 'tribute band'. Along the way, of course, he faced with decisions who he is and who he has become -- all along the way with a humorous undertone. A thoroughly enjoybale film with some good performances, but if that doesn't tickle you fancy, Jennifer Aniston looks hot, as always, in it. . . Review ID: 10000000007453774 Was this review helpful? Report this review I've bought this film mostly because the music. I've seen it some time ago on the telly and i couldn't get the tunes out of my head so added the movie to my collection. If rock is your cup of cake than Rock star is worth a shot. Review ID: 10000000007094679 Was this review helpful? I first watched this film when i was about 10 so i liked but i didnt love it. I watched it yesterday, 8 years after i first watched it, and realised that this film is the best. The music is awesome especially "stand up and shout" and the cast are simply amazing..they even went as far as getting john bonham's son, jason, to play the drums in the band "steel dragon" which the film is about. The film was also based around the band, judas priest. I highly recommend this film to anyone even if youre not particularly into rock music because it was made to show the time when 80's metal was best and how to live like a rockstar.
