Roberts RD-50 FM/DAB Radio

This is a fantastic radio! I chose it because I rated Roberts' good reputation, because I needed a DAB reception radio, and because I wanted the Pause-Plus option (more about that later). I like the retro styling and leather cover - it comes in loads of slightly muted colours, and there are even Cath Kidston designer flowery versions if you like that kind of thing! It is not heavy, it doesn't take up much room on the worktop, and it looks good. The DAB reception means great clear listening, no more crackles. Very simple operation and minimum amount of buttons: it automatically selects your favourite station when you turn it on, and you just twist the tuning knob to flick through the pre-selected stations and press when you find the one you want. Pause-Plus is easy to use: if the phone rings or the kids interrupt you, you simply press the Pause button until things have quietened down, then press it again to listen. Twist the tuning knob left and right to rewind or catch up. Only one minor thing I can think of - it has a strangely huge empty cavity at the back where the batteries go, seems bigger than it needs to be! I enjoy listening to this radio every day, and every day I am glad that I chose it. It is expensive, but if you shop around you can make savings, and in my view it is worth every penny!!

Very pleased with the retro look of this radio. I bought a Sony DAB on ebay sometime ago and gave it to my girlfriend. I much prefer this one which is used daily albeit in the kitchen.
I was very fortunate to get the radio which was not new, but in pristine condition. It is a radio after all so what is the big deal about the condition really? Roberts come with a good reputation which did sway my choice. Really happy with the look and sound, but don't expect too much, it is a portable radio not a DAB sound system. If that is what you are looking for then go for the Bose DAB.

I absolutely love my dab radio and it is used daily. A great design and easy to use considering i am a philistine when it comes to technology. i do wish it wasn;t mono speaker and you could record the music or radio show that you were listening to. Other than that i highly recommend this radio, very retro and great to listen to

If I said it has made my life a happier place, I wouldn't be far off, I have a great life and my Radio is amazing, in its tunning capability, and its most gorgeous design, i went for the pink and gold, I dont do pink but my girls do, its gorgeous, its tunning is also amazing, previously my partner had a db radio in out granite cottage, very poor signal, not now, I love it x

This radio is a great piece of british design. I love it's iconic style, that stands out in my home ( I have 3). It has a pause option just like sky plus, so you don't miss your favorite song whilst you get the door :o)
You can use with a adapter or battery, so great for anywhere home or out. Can flick from FM to DAB with the flick of a button, and also add your regular station to the favorites. Altogether a great little radio for any home, especially mine :o)

I do not dislike a thing about the radio and have ignore net reviews giving this item 2 out of 10. The fact is it looks great and sounds great and has brought me great pleasure since I have have purchased the item...and it matches my kitchen.

I was looking for a Roberts retro / vintage look radio but wanted the DAB features.. and found it on Ebay for less than the retail at Ryness or John Lewis! it was fab as i got exactly the retro cream / old english white leather colour that i wanted; and it works like a dream, transforming my mornings!

highly recommended to any buyer who wants the classic look but w/ mod cons.

Bought this for a present from AV World in Fareham, tried it out myself for a bit, had to have it prised out of my hands, just to see it given away..........gonna get myself one..............brilliant!!

had to send back leather was damaged in transit, not the best quality item!
expected better from a quality manufacturer!

I have always wanted a Roberts Radio, as I hadn't already got one I went for the DAB, it's retro, it's so beautiful I love it, sounds good too and picks up a lot of stations.
