I have had my eye on one of these radios for some time; it was just a case of which colour to go for.
The name Roberts Radio is synonymous with retro style and superior quality.For me,the brand totally eclipses any other of its contemporaries; they are quite unique.
The sound is very clear and the dials are very easy to tune in.
It is the aestheticthough, I feel, that is its main attraction.It is one classy looking, very characterful piece of equiptment, and I am totally enamoured with mine.

What a great old radio, i know eventually Digital wil replace everything, but is a keepsake non-the-less

In this day and age of faster / sleeker / modern(er), it's nice to own something that harks back to a byegone era, style-wise. In the disposable-trash-yer-planet age of consumerism, the Roberts R250FM radio has a look of something your granny might have owned, whilst possessing the same quality of build that means it might become a family heirloom and your grandchildren could well inherit it one day.
With the current farce of DAB provision in the UK, sticking with FM for the foreseeable future is a viable if not preferable option. This radio provides a lovely rich sound, and as my son says, "it's.....loud.."!! It's ease of use, reliability and lack of other options (it doesn't take photos, act as an amp for your ipod or make toast!!), actually mean that your gran would love it
I love it....it sounds quality and I'm so shallow that I can quite happily sit here for hours on end just looking at it and sighing....well, ok, I don't, but it is a pleasure to see everytime I walk by and adds to the room, rather than detracting like my old Sony 'soundsystem' used to ;)
