Road Racers, The / V Four Victory (DVD 2001)

I bought this dvd for the Road Racers this film about a trio of irish road racers is simply the best film to show just how great these riders are.they race for pityfull money just the thrill of going fast on a bike and the close family life of motorcycle road racing (please note that this is the exact opposite of most footballers in the premier league who i despise and ignore)I dont even watch moto gp anymore after seeing these riders from northern ireland (and other riders from all over the uk)tackle the road circuits of the isle of man,northern ireland.they are brave /skillfull and they are the peoples champions, everyone of them.all have a loyal following of ordinary people but its a real family following, men women and children.the other film is about Joey Dunlop and anything to do with that great man is a must see for anyone,motorcycle fan or not.a quiet hero to people all over the world whose humilty shone through and continues today with his sons and nephews.his skill on a bike was unsurpassed but it never stopped him being approachable to his thousands of supporters.a once in a lifetime man.both of these films are five star films not to be missed

The Road Racers has to be seen to be believed. A tremendous film that would, I guess, have been distributed as one of the support features that we used to get at the cinema. It's a glorious example of the film documentary. Well worth seeing even if you don't give a hoot about motorbike racing. If you do then you've probably seen it already and will agree that it gives a wonderful sense of just how glorious these times were.

It features Joey Dunlop but his real contribution to this disc is his film lap of the Isle of Man TT couse which features as the final chapter of V Four Victory, the second title on the disc. The film runs as an interview with Joey talking about a season's racing on Honda's V Four race bikes.

Two great films in one DVD
The Road Racers - If you like real motorcycle road racing then you wil just love this film, Fantastic fly on the wall documentary of the Armoy Armada back in a time before Health and Safety cretins were ever thought of, a sad end to the film which features some of the greatest road racers ever.
V-Four Victory - A nostalgic look back at Joey Dunlop riding for Honda and featuring a lap of the TT circuit which at he time hd grown men quaking in their boots.

Sheer brilliance, highly recommended films which are also cracking good value for money.

this has to be the best bike film i have ever seen. film is set in the late 70's and shows the TT lads at there best.

Amazing double dvd.A must for any real road racing fan.An absolute classic.Some of the racing footage is fantastic.Its hard to believe how quick those guys went in those days.Joey Dunlop...what can you say about the man...King of the Roads forever!!!

To sit through an on-board lap of Joey Dunlop averaging 120mph around the Isle-of-Man is a special experience - and one that anyone who is remotely keen on biking should!!
