After watching this series on tv recently I have been inspired to visit France this year, so much so I bought this dvd to review the places etc and of course to try out the mouth watering recipes. I rate Rick Steins Frech oDyssey a real classic.

This is Rick Stein at his simplest and best.
His passion for France, the simple delights of life, food,travel,and meeting people is hypnotic to watch.
The dvd is interesting,funny,enjoyable and sometimes the happiness expressed is quite moving.

Rick is as philosophical as ever with his own sometimes very critical views making this series as brilliant as his others.
The concept of travelling through France, exploring local dishes and investigating the history with his own interpretations is fantastic, the wonderful scenery, the characters, referrals to Chalky and the dabs of humour (I refer to ducking at the bridges for instance) makes this DVD an absolutely must have for me and I look forward for many more.
If you enjoy cooking programmes buy this one you will not regret the investment.
