A Diamond heist gone bad ! Outstanding debut film!

Tarantino's debut movie is cult viewing. The film benefits from a quality cast of actors with Harvey Keitel & Steve Buscemi being particularly impressive as Mr White & Mr Pink. The script is witty and engaging throughout. I'd never previously seen such a seemingly disjointed movie come together so perfectly as in Reservoir Dogs. I especially enjoyed the way the resevoir dogs turn on each other in order to try and uncover who the "rat" is after their failed diamond heist. Furthermore, the use of colour code names and cool suits & shades is another inspired choice by Tarantino. The film is both violent, coarse and darkly humourous - a perfect mix. The movie soundtrack is also particularly impressive. The highlight would have to be Mr Blonde dancing to the ditty of "Stuck in the middle with you", prior to engaging in ritual torture. This is of course the movie's most controversial episode with Michael Madsen hacking off the cop's ear, humiliating him and threatening to set him alight. A big fuss over nothing was made over this and its release on video was delayed as a result. They only succeeded in further enhancing the film's appeal. If your yet to see this film then you're in for a treat, I remember emerging from the cinema on pure adrenaline. The dvd special features cupboard is worryingly bare. Why only a trailer and Tarantino intro for such a very special movie? I can't let that trivial detail detract from this film's excellence - maximum marks for this masterpiece.

I bought this dvd with pretty low expectations, not because i thought it was going to be rubbish, but because i had not heard much about it, but when i started to watch it, i realised how great it really was, the storyline is excellent and keeps you guessing as to who the cop is, the acting was brilliant by all, and the gory bits were great, i would recommend buying this dvd to anybody interested, it won't let you down

  This film is the Dogs!

All the hype about this film made me buy it, and it was well worth it. A brilliant film, a typical twisty Tarantino, with his usual trick of flashbacks and different character's stories to keep the viewer guessing right to the end. Shorter than some Tarantino films, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A classic!

Absolutely awesome - Pulp Fiction eat your heart out!!! This is what real crime is about, need, desire and commitment with the undertones of exactitude. Always the same, bad bastards they may be - but, they should have got away with it, still, there you go then, not particularly different from working in construction really, just alternative weaponry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never seen this from start to finish. Another film to add to the collection of bad boy films by Quentin Tarantino. If you like Dusk til Dawn, Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction and both Kill Bills, then this is a definite must have film.

This is one of those films that you have to see without any interruptions. It is a typical Tarantino film. There is plenty of swearing and violence. It jumps from place to place like pulp fiction.I don't think this is as good as pulp fiction but never the less it is a good film.

  My All Time Favorite Film

This film is just amazing!! Cool is not even cool enough for this film. Cleverly scripted and just genius - simply!!

You can watch this film so many times and never get bored.

If you like to watch a film and have to think a little about what is going on - as the scenes jump back and forth, watch this. Never a dull moment in this film.

With John Travalota, Samuel Jackson (this film resurrects both their careers), Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames..... whom else could you need?!?!?

Ultimately SUPER FANTASTIC AWESOME GREAT film.

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

I decided to buy this DVD because my boyfirend likes Q. Tarantino, so bought it to him as a christmas gift. Its a nice staf and one thing i dislike is, that there arent slovak, or czech subtitles, but its not your fault.
Im glad i have it.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
