Rat Race (DVD 2002)

A fantastic slap-stick style comedy which can be enjoyed by all ages. Great film that I personally don't think will ever get old! Fully enjoyable 10/10

this film is extremely funny and has a surprisingly good plot, rowan atkinson plays a good role in the film and is his usual funny self. this film is good for the family because it is not very offensive at all. once you watch this film be prepared to want to watch it over and over.

I bought this film as I recalled watching it years ago and wanted to see if it was still as funny as I remembered. It is. If your're feeling a bit down then this will cheer you up. It's a madcap romp from start to finish.

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

i love love love it and so will everyone with chuckle muscles. sorry i turned into ken dod for a moment, but honesly watch this movie i cant beleive how many famous people are in it including rowan atkinson and i cant beleive its not famous but it will become a classic.

I'd never even heard of this film until my son started going on about it after watching it at his friend's. It reminded me a bit of modern day "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World", although I have to say that it is nowhere near as good. There are some VERY funny scenes throughout the film, and I love the idea that some people will bet on absolutely anything. We will definitely watch this one again, and I'm sure we'll laugh just as much.

very silly funny film made me giggle. It has some big names in this film. I liked the helicopter scene the best.

We bought this to have at home after watching the movie on TV. It is soooo side-splittingly funny the whole way through the film, not just bits here and there. We just adore the whole thing about the flying cow that keeps popping up here and there throughout the film and the whole Barbie Museum that the Jewish family goes to visit....it's not meant to be disrespectful, but when they find out it's a KLAUS BARBIE museum, that's a whole different kettle of fish! And the father accidentally giving himself a Hitler moustache - priceless!! We found the whole film hilarious from start to finish and can be watched by all the family. We would highly recommend this film to all and sundry.

From a point of view it is not convenient to give a very high mark to a movie like this, but I believe that movies have to be rated in different categories. So it could happen that such a movie receives a greater mark than a movie from a different category, which by the way has a greater artistic value.

Anyway, if you like non-sense movies with absurd scenes, this is for you. The movie succeeds without clever jokes, with its hilarious scenes to make fun of the greedy or the "don't know how to spend their money" people. One absurd scene follows the other, and if you like such humor you will soon find yourself convulsed with laughter. Sometimes it may appear forced, but this is a characteristic for the genre. If you just want a fun and action packed movie, this is a very good choice.

rowan atkinson!! what more could anyone want. a comic genius with an outstanding cast...john cleese is at his best!

This is just like a modern day gumball rally,cross with smokey and the bandit.
All star cast non stop laughter right through.
A great theme tune.
what more can i say without ruining the plot.
watch this you won't be dissapointed.

Caught this film unexpectedly on television. What elevated an average to good road/Gumball rally type film was seeing the enjoyment it gave to my teenage daughter without including cringey sex scenes. It's never going to be a classic but made for a fun family evening. Had to get the dvd (which has quite a lot of fairly entertaining extras)as my other daughter is avid to see it. Should while away a few car journies.

Looking at the list of actors on this films you'd expect this movie to have some great comedy.
You'd not be far off.

A very simple story.
John Cleese a billionaire casino tycoon has hidden x amount of millions dollars in a locker in a small local trian station. Cuba, Whoopi, Rownan & all the rest play the slots and discover a very starnge looking coin! They then find out the coin is an invitation to the penthouse suite where John Cleese awaits.
He tells them they can win the hidden money if they simply GET THERE FIRST! the race begins, well.....not so suddenly as who would think an excentric man would do a thing!

This comedy is fresh and energetic. You'll laugh @ Rowan Atkinson will his stupid manarissims "ITS A RACE, I'M WINNING!" and the idioticness of cuba Gooding Jr. flailingaround in his boxers. Why the ever loved JOHN LOVITZ steals hilters car!


This is a crazy ride FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY! Litterally, the kids will be laughing - the parents & even the grandparents.

I highly recommend you see this I PICKED IT UP FOR £2 w/ p&p its more than worth that just to watch once!

Unlike most family comedies this isn't aimed directly at kids. Many of the characters would appeal more to kids due to their eccentricities but there is enough of a plot and adult humour for everyone else too.

A great film and safe for all the family, a bit of an "American ending" which I guess you should expect but the rest of the film makes up for it.

all i can say is it is a great dvd one i was looking 4 a while and was in 1st class condition a brill movie

It was in really good condition when i got it. I bought it for my sister as a xmas present. Its about £15 in the shop i got it for less than a fiver.

My son asked for this for christmas, and luckily i found it on e bay. It has been well used since. I havent watched it but whenever he has it on there is constant giggling from hus room. He's 13.

I bought this dvd as a Christmas present for someone who likes the film. I think it was new and in its original wrapping. It was very cheap (about £3.99) and was perfect.

Im sorry i am unable to give you a full review of this film as it lasted only 25 minutes in my player. The few "jokes" i saw in the film were playground material at best, and could have been seen a mile away by Mr Magoo in a blizzard.

This is an example of how not to make a comedy, normally i dont mind the actors in the film, but this time im sure none of them read the script 1st, John Cleese!!! did you need the money sir? i think not, greedy!!

AVOID THIS DIRE "COMEDY" LIKE BLACK DEATH!!!!

If you do like no brain comedies there are some far better ones around, such as; Nothing To Lose, Guest House Paradiso, Airplane or any of the Naked Gun films, even Fat Slags was better than this.

Well my partner forced me to watch this film again as she is a big fan, and i have to be honest and say i enjoyed it somewhat. Still not brilliant but i saw some humour that perhaps i wasnt in the mood for the 1st time around. The ending did quite annoy me though, i mean come on, as if!

All in all, maybe you have to be in the right mood for this one, not bad, but could do better.
