Great fil with lots of action! Great pictures with a great actor! i would recomend this film to anyone who likes action films with lots of fighting and shooting!

slyvester stallone stars as john rambo in this triology of films a war veteran tormented by his past and trying to comes to terms with the things he's done. written, directed and starring stallone he plays the part with realistic authenticity, in rambo we see him back home in his native country abused by the local law enforcement he fights back the only way he knows which cullminates in a thrilling finsh to the film. the second in the trilogy sees him return to vietnam to rescue pow's left behind after the war,he falls for a local woman but when she is killed by the evil vietnam captain he exacts a bloody revenge on his enemy. the final outing in this trilogy sees john rambo dragged into a conflict that has nothing to do with, his superior officer colonel troutman is captured by brutal russain insergants on the border of pakistan and afganistan. when rambo finds out that the american government are powerless to get his release he asked them to get him in; what follows is a onslaught against these russain aggressors to free his commanding officer and escape back to the usa. as war films go rambo protrays the fight and struggle of a patriotic man abandoned by country for what he thought was right i am fan of these films, and the writing of this film elliquantly depicts how people can be affected phyically and mentally by certain atrocities.

...making a fourth film. Recommendation: keep "First Blood" and throw everything else away. Better still, retain the sequels' cases for other DVDs/CDs - otherwise they ARE recyclable. You can use the sequel DVDs themselves as coasters if they cannot be recycled with plastic packaging. The paper and card from the box packaging can definitely be recycled.

They cheapen "First Blood" by renaming it "Rambo: First Blood" (to associate it more with the sequels). That was a good film. The sequels are 'sad'.

The rambo trilogy is absolutely fantastic and i enjoy the films very much. Sylvester Stallone is an amazing actor and i feel the films reflect a part of all of us. they are exciting and deal with lots of problems. There are so many levels of emotion and parts of life. like love, anger and difficulty. There is nothing like it around with the same enchanting magic and it is legendary in the world of film. it is reasonably priced and well worth the watch. thoroughly enjjoyable.

I like Stallone in his later movies, wher he is more emotive and talkable.
I had never watched the Rambo series - and thought I might enjoy them, and would probably watch them many times more.
Something to occupy the mind while doing the mindless ironing?
They are good fun.

Oustanding movie. explosive action. One man army.

Review:
Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes

First Blood was the original, and best "rambo" film.
It did not even have the word rambo in the title.
It tells the tale of a Vietnam veteran drifter, who is harassed by a prejudiced Sheriff, and pushed into a terrible back lash.
Excellent film, but showing its age now.

Rambo - First Blood 2 brought back the hero of the first film.
This time though, instead of being an anti-hero, he is a true hero.
He is sent in to rescue some captured American soldiers in Vietnam.
Lots of killings, and shootings, and blowing ups follow.

By the time of Rambo 3 the formula however was getting a bit tired.
This time the enemy was changed to Russia (this was around the time of the Afghanistan invasion).
Rambo is trying to live a peaceful life in a Monestary, but then he hears his old pal has been captured on a secret mission (that Rambo had turned him down on), he goes off to save the day..

This DVD is absolutely brilliant. I decided to buy it because it is one of those films that i can watch time and time again without it ever getting boring.

Sylvestor stallone plats a big part in these films that is why it is action from the start excellent films thank you

i was replacing my video collection of rambo,the box set was as new with photo cards included.very pleased with purchase i consider it a bargain as the new rambo film costs nearly as much as i paid for box set.

I purchased the item for a present. It arrived very quickly and well packed. No problems with the item. Unfortunely the item, as a present was duplicated and is now an unwanted gift.

The films are the old (and very cheesy) classics, but whoever it was that compiled the subtitles was far from classic and bordering on downright incompetent. The job they did is absoloutely appaulling, with usually only the vaguest sense of the dialogue on screen being conveyed. My advice would be to buy the big box set that includes the fourth film, which is an excellent piece of work and much better put together than this piece of tat. It has more extras and commentaries too.

the rambo films are all great and i would recomend them to people who like action films. i think the third film (rambo 3) is the best out of the trilogy. It is a great film however not everyone likes it. If you have seen any of the rambo films and liked them i would recommend this to you.

I watched these films years ago and thought they were brilliant, so decided to buy them to watch again. My son thinks he is so good, plus i get to see the gorgeous Sylvester Stallone in action

Bought the Triology as enjoyed wtaching the films when shown on the TV. Really enjoyed watching the films again as they are really entertaining. Well worth recommending to anyone who enjoys these kinds of films.

SMPLY PUT I BROUGHT THIS RAMBO TRILOGY BECAUSE I WANTED IT. WHEN I RECIVED IT THROUGH THE POST IT WAS JUST AS IT WAS ADVERTISED, NEW AND STILL SEALED. THE BOX SET ITSELF FOLLOWS THE STORY OF A VIETNAM VET WHO HAS TROUBLE RETURNING TO CIVILEN LIFE STYLE IN THE FIRST FILM AND WHEN PUSHED BY A SMALL TOWN SHERIFF GOSE BACK TO USEING HIS MILITARY TRAINING TO SERVIVE IN THE OUT DOORS.

WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT ALL THREE FILMS IS THAT THEY ARE ALL ACTION ALL THE WAY AND FAR BETTER THAN RAMBO 4, ( GOOD BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHER 3 FILMS), I BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE I LOVE ACTION FILMS AND IF ANYONE IS LOOKING FOR AN ACTION FILM THIS HAS TO BE THREE OF THE BEST.
