RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Smartphone

The phone was in good condition and had no promblems with phone. Overall okay but I did send may emails to the buyer but did not reply back to them to keep me updated and that annoyied me.

For those who dont want to carry a brick around with them but need to easily keep in touch then this is for you. Easy to use and a beauty to look at, slim & versatile.

The blackberry is the best phone around for using it with emails and internet. Otherwise it is a pretty standard phone apart from the QWERTY keypad which takes along time to get used to. The features are pretty standard but then again the main type of person will buy the phone for the SMS, calling, emailing and interent usage and not the camera and MP3 player. Overall it is a very good all rounder phone and highly recommended!

As far as phones go, the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 does not excel in any category... For starters, the 1.3 Megapixel camera lacks the ability to record video (even with the latest software update, this function is not there)! What's more, file operations such as accessing the memory card, opening pictures, listing music and sometimes just opening the main menu result in a horribly long (sometimes as long as 2 min) wait. Add to this the 2+ minute start up times, a memory card slot that is UNDER THE BATTERY and there are few reasons to buy this phone... Criticisms aside, the phone looks fantastic, and with a load of free apps online, this is a potentially very functional device. Texting is amazing... once you have mastered the keypad layout that is... And it is for this reason that I am currently using one of these... So to sum up... If you love to text, email or chat (yep, MSN apps are available for the BlackBerry 8100), and want a super sleek device to do this, get one of these... However, if you want a decent camera, multimedia functionality and a responsive phone, avoid at all costs!!

Absolutely marvelous phone, UNLESS you want to synchronise with the calendar in Microsoft Outlook. It doesn't work

The phone is very light to carry around, easy to handle if you are expert with trackball mouse if not you are lost. you can increase the text font but i found
the keypads too small to read this is not easy for those who wear reading glass. overroll rate good for value.

This is my 2nd 8100 Blackberry [BB]. Wanted this for personal use: already have one from work but cannot receive personal email & cannot add applications.

Want a phone not a "brick" to carry around, like so many of the larger BB the 8100 is small & slim compared to a lot of modern phones with similar capabilities; ideal & added benefit of personal email means can now separate work/personal email.

Works with hands free kit or bluetooth in the car, so no problems there!

The phone is really good. Easy texting, very slim amd confortable in hand. But operations with the memory card really long. That`s the only negative side.

i got the black berry because i wanted a phone that would work for a long time and was relieable i also looked at other phones but the price was ok and i liked the look of the phone

I wanted a new phone for a cheap price to last until my upgrade. I couldn't believe my luck when I won it on ebay. The phone is really good, camera great on it. The qwerty keyboard can take a little time to get used to. Think it looks quite smart and sophisticated has great features and the best calender and phone bookI have seen on a phone.

I ordered the blackberry 8100 but the 8110 came instead. This phone is amazing i loveee it! It is well worth buying!

i got this phone as i wanted a new one that had facebook on it buti was not happy with the postage i was charged for the phone i was charged 14.99 but it was less than 5.00 to post. and facebook dont work so i will have to take it to the shop to sort it out and there are other things wrong with the phone
i would NOT requemend this seller to anyone as the seller is a rip off merchant and was not prepered to offer a refund

great phone loads of features battery life not as good as some
brill apps . if u whant a phone that is as good as a iphone but without the cost u carnt do much better....
now for the possible bad bits ....
make shure that the mobile u r bidding on is on the network u r on
if not u r looking at unlocking fee of around £15-£25 depending on repair shop.
dont trust the seller when he says unlocked??.
check the track ball on the pearl 8 series as it is very prone to dust&dert
as once its playing up it will be at best £10 for a clean up
and £35-£45 to repair or replace..but the ball is the only main prob with the
mobile....

I got sent a phone that did not work, had been on charge for 2 days and still nothing. I e mailed and no reply as of yet

Great phone, does normal phone things, calls, predictive text, keeps sent msg's etc but also has the extras if you want to use them like blackberry messenger and email functions.

It can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be, might not be for everyone but i love it!

excellent transaction, arrived in box but no accessories except for the charger ,and leather pouch.I would have liked the instruction manual, DVD and and computor lead , perhaps you could forward them to me thank you

Had a Blackberry 8100 before.....loved it....this one is crap....must be a bad egg.....keys unresponsive.....bad reception.....very very slow despite uodating all software.....big disappointment.....

The blackberry pearl 8100 is a great phone to own. Since I have both the 8100 and the 8110, I have only found one significant difference between the two.

The operating system of the 8100 is much slower than that as compared to the 8110. One the whole for the price, 8110 would beat the 8100 hands down.

Overall a great phone to own. Small, compact and gets work done.
