I've had my Blackberry Bold since February 2009, and one of the first experiences I had with my new Blackberry Smartphone, is the GPS Navigation and maps feature. I must admit, i was pleasantly surprised with the application; i found it simple to start up, easy to function but most importantly, I had great fun! Your starting location can be found by using satellites giving you a precise approach, then simply enter a postcode to find your destination. The Smartphone does the hard bit, indicating the fastest route and also telling you when to turn! Furthermore, the application also has the ability to search for local banks, restaurants and supermarkets, just as the iPhone can do, only the Blackberry Bold also displays directions and informs you how to get there, opening times and contact info. Lastly, the GPS Navigation has the capability to calculate your traveling speed, whether your on foot, bike or in your car, this is the perfect traveling accessory, making the future look extremely exciting! A must have!

The bold is very convenient. You can check email, send mms and it's very quick. The only thing I hate about it is when I bought it on ebay some people sell it ot me and then report it stolen. Therefore, the phone is permanently locked and it's very annoying.

This is quite a big phone, it's wide and a little bulky but it has all the features you can ever want and if you email and sms a lot it is the best phone around. It has a 3.5mm phones socket for great music, the screen is really bright, it's not a touch screen but the little navigation ball is very usable.
Battery life is good and so is the 3G. The camera is not the best but ok for outdoors.

Only the 8900 is better but then that has no 3G and the keyboard is a little cramped.

a beautiful piece of kit with a large number of features. blackberry really messed it up with the 'storm' bt the bold is absolutely awesome. looks great, works great and was da first to feature da new blackberry software. if u need email facilities for work etc, u can nt get a betta fone den dis one.

I bought this phone as a replacment for my Nokia N96 as found it to be useless. I have had this phone for 2 days now and find it fantastic and easy to use, along with the keyboard. I wasnt sure at first but already I can use it easily to type a text out! I would recommend this all day long

This is a simply immaculate piece of technology that is ideal for several useful activities for many reasons:-

The use of the keyboard is efficient, accurate (not easy to press the wrong key in spite of quite a small QUERTY due to a clever key-pressing mechanism), and the touch and move finger (or thumb) button that allows selection is very easy and precise to use.

The resolution of the screen is excellent, and in spite of the screen being very small (compared to any PC or laptop), it is very easy to read, even for a presbyope (person who needs reading glasses) like myself. The other reasons for this ease are very good colour rendering and sufficient illumination.

The host of features are brilliant with some not available on simple mobile phones, and these are quite readily customisable. Examples are the on-gadget help facility, which I have not come across before (so you do not need to carry an instruction book), and the ability to edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files. The help information available on the .pdf file in the included cd is also very useful and comprehensive (it can be saved onto the hard disc of your PC).

The bluetooth capabilities work well e.g. the device connects to a hands-free very quickly, and remains connected (does not seem to connect to some older hands-free devices).

I found that this gadget allows quite fast browsing of the internet, especially the use of software on websites specially designed for the Bold 9000. This is also good value for under a pound a day (in the UK only). I have tried a mini laptop and a Datawind Pocket Surfer for share trading before, but they are no comparison to the Blackberry.

The only two minor weak points I noted were:-

Firstly, the charge on the battery does not last at all near what is claimed (it only lasts about 60 hours [maximum] even on standby, whereas much longer is claimed on the company website).

Secondly, in my view, the number of symbols available on text messages appears slightly low at about 40 (I am a scientist, and require e.g. Greek alphabet, which was available on my old device).

In summary, I could not manage without this device, particularly when I am out and about, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who needs the various features outlined above (perhaps not for gamers).

Serves the purpose ......my iphones email option hasnt worked therefore had to be replaced to give me some freedom....The best option after research was Blackberry 9000.................

The phone is really good. Anyway, I still think is too expensive for his real value.

You never have to buy a handheld previously locked because you only have the original and complete features on the original network. Do you understand?.

The another problem is that the Blackberry software and adds-on are for rich people as are too expensive.

Anyway, of course is a very, very good phone.

was disapointed with the blackberry bold, i actually have the blackberry javalin 8900. and i thaught the blackberry bold was going to be a bit better , but is very big and bulky and the screen isnt as good as they say it is. overall i feel the blackberry javalin 8900 in much better

the phone ovrall is very nice, a very good screen with exelent visual quility one of the clearest screen iv seen on a phone becuase of this things like video playback is exceptonally clear its like looking through glass. I uploaded my home video which vere shot of a camcorder and used the blackberry desktop manager and placed it on my phone the video was converted but the quality did not differ from the original.
Calling features are good with a wide range of option where you can eneter the deatails. This allows you to single click on the email and if the other party are online talk to them using you default IM. Facebook is also on the phone togter with bebo, and Myspace. There are meny more but they are the main 3.
Aplication i have to say is a let down for some people. Comparied to the 1Phone the iphone has alot of aplication which can be downloaded most which are free. Blackberry does not have that meny aplications which are free and not as meny aplication all togther. RIM are going to launch a App World which will have lots of aplications, but i do not know about this.
The main home screen is well desiged with the wifi logo and the network you care on, The menu is the same but when you go to third menus like options RIM have still used the same list type menu which is slight let down.
Multimedia featurea are good, phonebook, good, screen exelent, Aplications OK, usability Good.

This phone looks beautiful and does everything you would expect a Blackberry.
It isn't without it's quirks and flaws but it's an excellent compromise between the usually business oriented Blackberries and most other consumer-based handsets.
For my small business usage it's perfect but I'm not sure how heavier users would find it.
The reasons for this are that the touchscreen sensitivity can be a bit slow, although it is actually very responsive and the tactile feedback (or full screen 'click' is nice.
I have found that applying a screen protector has improved the scrolling.
Typing on the touchscreen qwerty keyboard does take a bit of practise
but once you get used to it, (especially the cursor drag for corrections and the cut and paste features)it's great...
The quirks/bugs I've noticed are that sometimes in suretype mode the spellcheck options can be slow to allow selection. Also there's some delay on saving images in camera mode.
Hopefully these issues will all be rectified with newer OS releases.
The one other issue that is repeatedly brought up about this handset is the lack of Wi-fi, but on a Blackberry Internet Service tariff via the 3G network it's really not too much of a problem in terms of speed.

hi could you unblock my phone immedeatly with t-mobile becouse they told me that the saller has told us to block the phone.

if you fail to do that i will be taking u to court for things you done wich u have no rigth to do so.

important that i have lost all my business calls from 27/02/09. that will prosocute you of lost of business in term of contacts.

t-mobile have told me that the saller has blocked it on friday the 27/02/09 and gave a reosend that he has lost it. so i am giving you up to tommorow moring to sort it out. and i would like a latter from saller to say that he is not in comand from now for this phone.

This phone is an absolute dream to use the onboard wifi makes browsing a pleasure the fastest phone out there. Even though I bought it faulty it was the easiest phone to repair in a long time. The leather back makes it a very fashinable phone. Perfect for a bussiness person. Can have it on 3g or 3g works execelent on both. Basicly if you can find one on ebay with the sos fault buy it then unlock it it always works

Very good peice of kit, much better than the iPhone! The phone is very easy to use. I love the look of it. Graphics are good and clear, a great improvement on the old blackberry. Buy this and not an iPhone!!!
