RIM BlackBerry 7290

I purchased the Blackberry to allow a large phone book and proper access to the Internet. It also has a calendar which is useful. It can link in with the Lotus Organiser software so integrates without any problem to the main PC.

I have discovered after buying my nearly new Blackberry 7290 that it is fire walled and I cannot disable this feature due to the fact that is was on a corporate server in nearly all cases it is impossible to remove the IT Policies from the handset.
You can make calls and send texts but try to install software or access the net and you are wasting your time
I would suggest that you do a search on second hand blackberry's before buying one
I want to make it clear that in the majority of cases the seller is not to blame I would suggest that you enquire first with the seller and get a "blank" BES policy pushed down to the Phone before purchasing it.

This was bought really as a 'Boys Toy'. I am absolutely loving getting to grips with everything it does and sometimes I will even read the instructions !.
It feels incredibly sturdy and in fact I am sure it would stand a bus on top of it.
As a PDA it is excellent and has the advantage of internet connection in more places than a Wifi notebook.
At the right price a very useful 'Toy' !!

Excellent working condition - Thanks. Upgraded from my Palm V with this blackberry 7290, software from blackberry (free downloadable) transferred everything over seamlessly. Was able to simply place my pay-as you go sim card into the Blackberry and it transferred all my contacts on the sim card right onto the Blackberry. with pay-as-you go don't have e-mail capability but this thing is great! It's like having a Palm and a phone. I am now able to text very proficiently due to the qwerty keyboard on the blackberry.

This mobile is popular so I wanted to bye for my husband. It,s in good condition like second hand, but I missed the instruction book for it.

I always wanted one, they have got lots of helpful gadgets, even though they are a bit big, i always lose small phones! it acts as a pda too.

Doesn't have all extras that conventional modern phone has, but it's more like a buiseness phone. Good reception, average battery life (2 days). Excellent for e-mails.
Good as sort of buiseness phone but poor for somebody who's looking for extras like mp3 player, games etc.

Bought this as a back up phone for my BlackBerry. Not as easy or simple to use, but still does the trick.

bought it to give it a go before buying a newer one.....its a ronseal phone - it does exactly what it says on the tin!

I bought it for its QWERTY keyboard and bluetooth facility. I don't use if for emails or web access. For what I wanted it does a brilliant job with notes, diary, contacts, synchronising with Outlook oh, and the phone is excellent quality reception too.

The phone is a handy size and works well with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a business PDA. The only downside is that the ring tone volume is too low for when out and about in the street or the car. The number of missed calls and messages I have had, has meant that I have lost time and business.

i liked everything but accept the fact that the selller lied, because he said it was new and i t was not new it was used, the boxed was not sealed proplery all the sealed sticker, for the charger, etc had been open aprt from tha,t that is it but do not n how to get songs onr pictures into it i use my usb cable does not work dunno the seller needs to mail me how?

The 7290 may not be the most glamorous Blackberry on the block, but it's arguably the most user friendly. A word of warning, however - avoid buying unlocked Blackberries. They are a devil to configure.

Living in Cyprus I found that the price of mobile phones rather expensive so I resorted to E-Bay.
Blackberry as a mobile phone manufacturer has a reputation and if it it good enough for the new President of the USA it's good enough for me.
I found dealing with the seller no problem and they were most helpful.
The item itself is what I wanted and as a second hand item it is in very good order.
I have no qualms in recommending the buying/selling of items on E-Bay.

the phone does not work even brought a orange chip . been on phone to orange and to there shop really upset and out of pocket a bad buy not happy. aresent forchristmas lost thanks for nothing !

this phone is well presented excellent condition everything came with it so no need to buy extra things everything was explained good

first of all i would like to say how helpful the seller was, he was beyond helpful and would recommend to anyone, now for the product, I've always wanted to try out a blackberry and i must say it was worth the wait, FANTASTIC! for an old phone it sure can do a lot the phone part is very good but I'm not using it as a phone at the moment I'm using it like a pda and this is something it does very well indeed.

to sum up..... well the title say's it all just buy one you'll be hooked, my next contract upgrade will almost certainly be a blackberry

although I never had a manual for this phone it was very easy to use and work out how everything on the phone worked
