Quigley Down Under (DVD 2003)

I bought the dvd of the movie quigley down under as i had it on video.It was a film that moved me very much, in amongst the violence there was compassion and feeling towards the aborigines from a very unlikely source im sure if you watched it you wuold feel the same. I am very surprised that it didnt do well in cinemas and not many people know of it. if you do come across it please take time to watch it, it stars Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman. Both of them give an overwhelming performance.

A best performance by Tom Selleck and the lovely Laura San Giacomo with the usual excellent showing from Alan Rickman. Quigley arrives in Oz for a job that turns into a contract killer offer. Crazy Cora as a love interest and comedy side kick is perfect as she is. Alan Rickman always the brilliant baddy had he been allowed a little more air time would have stolen the show.

First class product and excellent communication and delivery, THIS SELLER I WILL MOST LIKELY DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN AND AGAIN , highly recommended

Tom Selleck gives one of his best perfomances as American sharpshooter Quigley hired by a wealthy Australian land baron (Rickman) to murder aborigines. When Quigley realises what the job involves, he sides with the aborigines against his boss. The ensuing fight sequences and gun battles are some of the best I've ever seen and Selleck plays the perfect old-fashioned hero that you can't help but cheer for just as Rickman plays the perfect bad guy that you just love to loath.

This film also has a serious slant as it is a poignant reminder of how badly white man has treated the aborigines in Australia. Some of the murders are particularly brutal which is why this film is cert 15.
