Will Smith did a great job as the father trying to protect his son from their circumstances of becoming homeless as much as he can, while at the same time trying to work in the competitive world of stocks as an un-paid intern. Jaden Smith was outstanding as the preschool-aged kid who knows things are going wrong and tries to have a stiff upper lip, but just can't do it all the time.
The story is very touching and was close to home for me. My family has been through some tough times, and this movie just reminded me of how much my parents struggled to provide for our family and yet kept life fun as much as they could. I am excited to go see this with my parents as a way to say thank you.

I love Will Smith both Music & Films but and there is a "Big But" overhanging this Film as he didn't quite step-up to the Mark we all know & Love him as!
The Story which is inspired by a True Story is both Sad and Humorous and Not to forget Will Smith's SOOOO Cute Real Son Jaden Smith who plays Little Christopher in the Film who puts on a Fantastic Debut Performance and will without-a-doubt be up there following his Fathers Footsteps and beyond!
This film follows a father who is struggling to make ends meet, when his girlfriend walks out on both him and their son. Left with his 5 year old to raise and just starting an unpaid job at a Stockbrokers where only 1 in 20 will make the break, Chris (Will Smith) is evicted from his apartment and is left walking the Streets finding Homeless Shelters for him & his Son. His Love and Determination for his Son could land him on his feet and make him a Wall Street Legend.
Worth a Watch if only to see a REAL Father & Son Film!

Chris Gardner is a bright and talented, but marginally employed salesman. Struggling to make ends meet, Gardner finds himself and his five-year-old son evicted from their San Francisco apartment with nowhere to go. When Gardner lands an internship at a prestigious stock brokerage firm, he and his son endure many hardships, including living in shelters, in pursuit of his dream of a better life for the two of them.

My Review: Will At His Best, I was expecting this to be a Sunday afternoon feel good movie, having not heard much about it, boy was I wrong!! This wrenched at the heart strings in every scene and had me (and my other half) sobbing by the end. Will Smith totally stepped out of his typecast with this film and the chemistry with his son was brilliant. I was totally surprised to be so impressed by this film and would recommend it to all.

Against all odds the battle never gets the better of his determination.

There is a lesson in here we could all learn from, to achieve your dreams, you sometimes have to climb a few mountains and take a few risks, there are many lows to hit before the highs are reached.

This movie takes you through every step, well worth a viewing

I loved this film, it was really moving and although I was close to tears for much of the film it is really rewarding to watch. The real life bond between Will Smith and his son adds that extra something to this film making it really believable and seeing as it is based on a true story I think this was a very clever bit of casting. A 'must see' film.

I think this is an excellent film, with Will Smith playing a salesman called Chris, who is trying to make ends meet. He is left to raise his son on his own, and battles to keep them off the streets. One of the heart rendering moments in this film, is when Chris and his 5 yr old son are evicted and end up sleeping in a metro station bathroom - the acting is amazing with Chris holding his son and crying, in desperation. Tissues are definitely needed!!
Will smiths' son Jaden Smith, plays his on screen son in this film. This is based on a true story. I would recommend this to any Will Smith fans, this is certainly one of his best films, I feel.

Very good film as others have said before, will smith again is an excellent actor and his son is following in his footsteps. This film makes you realise that anything is possible and if you want something to go and get it, Will make the tears stream down your face. An older family film, or one to watch with the girls

When you think Will Smith you think Action & Comedy Films as he has only done one Credible film (Ali) till now, which is just as well as he would of been upstaged by his real life son Jaden Smith who aslo play's his son in the film.

This is based on a real life story about a man called Chris Garder, about how he was a struggling salesman trying to do the best for his family. He faces allot of challenges along the way including his Wife leaving, being evicted from his apartment and having to sleep in subway toilets & homeless shelters.

So when the Happiness comes right at the end Im just warning you that 90% will cry as the film is that moving & well Acted.

In the Special Features you can see a Interview with the Real Chris Garder the man behind the film, and the rest of the features are not bad as well as you get to see Farter & Son on and off Screen.

It is an emotional film, for his son one man will reach for the impossible. "The performane of a lifetime... Smith simply dazzles..."

Great film, good acting. Very inspirational especially in this economic climate.

Great extras too, especially the "Rubik's Cube" clips.

Worth watching, it is very good. alot to learn from the film. I'd love to watch it again. Ive not watched a good film like this in ages. Will smith did some really good acting.

I loved absolutely everything about this film. Not in a long time has my concentration remained till the very end. A fantastic story.

Will Smith is an excellent actor and for me this is one of his best films. It is based on a true story which is very sad given the nature of the film, but without giving the ending away, it is a very happy story also. A must see in my opinion - fabulous! Also, Will Smith's real son plays his son in this film and he's a great wee actor. I think he'll be following in his father's footsteps!

A 2 hour film that keeps you glued until the rolling credits. How many films can you say that about these days? This film, for me, is all about morals and values in life and what a human being can achieve if it really wants to.

Without going in to a whole load of dialogue, as it would ruin your enjoyment, it can be perfectly summed up by the expression - "Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it."

I think anyone who is feeling slightly down or may be struggling slightly at work should watch this. It really does put things into perspective. A hugely enjoyable film and a fantastic and memorable performance by Will Smith.

what a film.....Inspirational...there are not many 'true' stories that come along that prove 'if you want something bad enough you have to fight for it, you have to go after it, it is not going to come too you' - a great, real life, story that has that feel good factor. Buy it now, you will not be disappointed...

Great movie, I'm a fan of Will Smith and went to see this in the cinema. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will Smith was brilliant. Overall, excellent.

I decided to buy it because my husband had watched it in the plane and he loved it a lot and when i watched it myself with my husband, i agreed that this is a superb film. I will never let go of it!
