Pure Digital PURE EVOKE-1 FM/DAB Radio

I've become a real convert to DAB radio. Never thought there was a reason to move from FM but since I got one as a present I've been pasing them on as presents too. I've tried quite a few and Pure is by far the best of the bunch. For the price, the speakers fitted in these little boxes are fantastic; clear and responsive, whether listening to the spoken work or music. Go for it.

Pure Evoke 1S DAB and FM Radio is the latest model of the Evoke from Pure Digital, and very good it is too.
Optional fit-and-forget ChargePAK provides around 24 hours of portable DAB listening.
The radio is a true mono radio, but it becomes a stereo radio by adding the Evoke-1s speaker.
The Organic LED display is good. A light sensor adjusts the display brightness to suit the ambient light in your room. This works really well and it is about time Pure got this right.
You can connect an iPod or MiniDisc or CD player or MP3 player to the rear of the radio and play it directly through the Evoke-1s speaker, or in stereo if you have the optional Evoke-1s speaker.
It has a stereo output to connect to a Hi-Fi.
Pause and control scrolling text. Browse stored scrolling text at your convenience.
Dedicated kitchen timer button, ideal for timing your cooking to perfection. This button does not make you a good cook, but maybe listening to good music will stop you wondering out of the kitchen and letting the food burn.
30 DAB or FM presets in a combined list.
RDS for FM station name display and RDS scrolling text.
USB socket to add new features as they become available from Pure via your computer.

If you want a small but high quality DAB radio, you wont go far wrong with this one. It is compact and well styled, would fit either traditional or contamporary surroundings. The unit is well laid out and easy to use, my wife is shy of technology but loves her radio and managed to set it up with ease. the sound quality is superb considering the small size of the radio. The display is clear and easy to read and makes good use of the facilities DAB has to offer without going over the top. Highly recommended

The Pure DAB radio had been recommended to me for sheer quality. I must admit I love the style of this radio - it is quite compact and elegant. The wooden shell is very solid, sturdy and unfussy. The quality of the sound is excellent for the majority of stations. However, there are just a couple that require to you place the radio in a certain position to pick them up clearly. This may be to do with the area I live but overall I would recommend this radio as being an excellent choice.

Love the design of this DAB radio. I now have three in different rooms. Would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting a DAB.

The radio ws recieved in perfect condition and works fine. My father paid 4 times as much for the same model a couple of years ago and the one I got was exactly the same quality. I would recommend theseradios to anyone.

I bought one new a few years ago and have been delighted with the quality. My 10 year old daughter wanted to get one for herself so we got one from E-bay.
Like another reviewer we couldn't get a squeak out of it at first. However as the tuning part was working we persevered and tried plugging in a set of headphones. Signal received perfectly through headphones and concluded it was only the closing of the headphone socket that was the problem. Replaced headphone socket - now works perfectly.
Build and sound quality is excellent. Not cheap but highly recommended

This hardly picks up any channels and when it does you have to move it and the Ariel around all the time, similar to having an old fashioned radio which is not what we wanted, Would not reccomend
