Pure Digital OASIS DAB Radio

Purchased for my wife when her old radio cassette finally gave up the ghost. To put her [articulated] needs into perspective - something that will be used outside and hauled around the garden whilst permanently tuned to Radio 2. Whilst her hearing would not be described as acute - rubbish is given short shrift.

First surprise was the size. A little larger than many of the 'portable' radios but the sound coming out of the speaker quickly made up for that. Next surprise (to me) was the way in which the portability or the rechargeable battery and freedom this gives her was taken on board in a big way. I don't suppose for a minute that the makers of this expect it to be trailed around in a wheelbarrow, sharing space with clippings, soil and the other detritus that gardeners collect on their perambulations - but this is what this radio can expect during its life.

Reflecting on this, it speaks volumes for how this item has been welcomed and will be fully used.

All of the additional functionality will fall by the wayside and is unlikely to be used - perhaps the one improvement might be a docking port on top for an iPod instead of the more conventional side connectivity. But that would just be for my use - and that would not go down well so perhaps it is just as well.

Overall a very nice product. White looks good (perhaps not so practical for the garden), sound is very good with plenty of body without a booming bass, battery life on a full charge yet to be determined and tuning is solid - my wife is delighted. What better recommendation is there for me - and I'd recommend it to others on the basis of my experience to date.

This rechargeable DAB radio is great for use anywhere in the house, but especially outside or in a bathroom as waterproof. It has a potential to play quite loud without distortion, and a substantial handle for easy carriage. The aerial is floppy so no need to worry about breaking it on your travels!

Internal Battery lasts over 12 hours constant use.

i like this very much. i needed a radio in the kitchen and as this is portable and waterproof it can be used inside or out. it charges quickly and easily and the handle on top means it can be carried safely.
I did not see anything like this in the shops/I am new to buying online so was very pleased to get this. The sound is pretty good, it is after all a portable. it is robust so should prove to be a really good buy/ I did recognise the product name so this did help.

I liked the fact it was refurbished and made me feel I was getting better deal. It arrived in super quick time, I was really impressed and well as having a warranty.
The company were professional and I feel like I have recieved a good buy. A good all round experience.

Fantastic sound,easy to use,love the fact it has a rechargable battery which means not a plug in sight,and great that you can take it any where and every where you go.Cant fault it!

Sound is not brilliant, but the controls are intuitive and the reception good. Apart from the sound, my only quibble is with the flashing light. Otherwise a fine choice of radio. Appears to be very robust, although this is something I have not tested fully!

As with all Pure DAB products this is a well designed high quality product - reliable with good reception which rarely drops off (unlike other DAB radios I have used), it charges quickly when running off the mains and easily out lasted it quoted running time on the built-in battery.

Very satisfied (thou it should be said I am already a great fan of Pure products), plus an excellent price on eBay as I was happy to spend around £100 and almost ordered from a normal online retailer at £130, so a great product at a great price.

dont hesitate to buy this top quality product .brilliant for outdoor use with the built in powerpack.very good sound through the speaker crystal clear!
